The back firing sounds like to me that the spark plug wires are not in right position on distributor cap, firing on wrong cylinder, did you remove distributor or distributor cap?

You need to determine if it is fuel related or spark related. I have seen everything from a pick up screen in the tank to a crankshaft position sensor. Check the fuel pressure when the no start condition occurs, check for spark at the coils. Does all your electrical equipment in the car loose memory?

Take mass air flow sensor off and clean it with a non-chlronated brake cleaner then wait 15 minutes and re-install.

Hi my 1999 s-10 cranks over but wont fire up...

Check to see if it has fuel by spraying throttlebody cleaner into the throttle body and then trying to start it. If it fires up for a few seconds then shuts off its the fuel pump or restricted fuel filter. if it does not fire up then you need to check spark. if your getting a real weak or intermittant spark or even no spark at all its probably the crank position sensor. Sometimes the coils go out but not very often.

1998 chevy tahoe 4x4 wont start. not getting fuel to throttle body. its not a fuel pump relay i tried it. it will start if i pour gas in the throttle body

fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. When you turn the key do you hear fuel pump run? If not odds are the pump is bad.

1997 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 will not start. Getting spark checked all fuses, changed rotar - spark plug wires,

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Fuel pumps are a common failure item on those trucks. Pick up a cheap fuel pressure gauge and hook it up to the shrader valve on the fuel rail. With the ignition on and you should have 55-65psi. Even if it's a few psi below spec it could stop the engine from firing.Once you determine the fuel pressure isn't adequate make sure you have a good power and ground at the fuel pump. If that checks out, time for a new fuel pump module. I recommend only replacing it with an AC delco unit, I've heard bad stories about aftermarket replacements.
You could also spray some carb cleaner or starting fluid in the throttle body and crank the engine over. If it runs for a few seconds after spraying starting fluid in you know you have a fuel delivery problem.

I have an 1999 ford rsnger that wont start

DOES IT HAVE POWER/ A GOOD BATTERY? IF SO CHECK & SEE IF IT IS GETTING FIRE OUT FROM THE COIL PACKS,THE QUICKEST WAY TO SEE IF IT IS FIRE OR A FUEL PROBLEM IS SPRAY A LITTLE STARTING FLUID IN THE THROTTLE BODY,& IF IT CRANKS & THEN CUTS RIGHT BACK OFF ITS A FUEL PROBLEM,FUEL PUMP FUSE,FUEL PUMP RELAY,OR FUEL PUMP,& OR FUEL FILTER, IF ITS NOT GETTING FIRE IT COULD BE A CRANK SENSOR, A CAM POSITION SENSOR,COIL PACK(S) OR A FUSE OR RELAY.
