Question about 2004 Suzuki Forenza

2 Answers

I own a 2004 Suzuki Forenza and have noticed that water drips on the carpet when I run the AC or when it rains. We've already taken apart the drain and confirmed that the leak is not from the drain under the windshield. We looked underneath the dashboard and found water leaking from the AC unit. It looks like perhaps the condensation from the AC, instead of draining out of the car is leaking inside the car instead. Any idea what could cause this?

You are exactly correct. There is a drain on the bottom of the evaporator case. Probably need to place the car on ramps or jackstands to get underthere and clean it out. If you don't feel you can do that safely go to a machanic and tell him what you need done. The drain is on the passengers side down by the front floor. Most times it's out side in the engine compartment, but some have a small hose you can get to inside.

That not a drain under windsheild that where the ac unit sucks air in but it also collects rain water to there should be a drain on bottoum of air box on firewall that either clogged or the hose came off it other than that posiable bad heater core but that would leack all the time not just when ac on or raining

IV HAD MY 2011 FORD MONDEO 47357 MILES FOR 4 MONTHS. IV NOTICED SOME WATER IN THE FOOTWELLS ON THE OFFSIDE.

Does the water only appear after the AC has been used, or is it typically after a rain or overnight with a lot of condensation on the car? If only after the AC has been used, the issue is probably a restriction in the condensate drain which would allow the condensate to drip out a tube to the ground below the car. If that drain is restricted, the condensate will then spill over one of the seams in the ducting inside the vehicle and on to the floor. Do you notice a puddle on the ground below the car if you park the car with the engine idling and the AC running for about 5 minutes? If not, there's a very good chance the condensate drain is plugged/restricted.

If the water seems to only appear after a rain or evening with a lot of condensation, the issue could be a plugged drain tube for the sunroof/moonroof. If your car does not have a sunroof or moonroof, then this is probably not the cause.

Iam getting rain in my 2003 HSE why.

And where exactly is this rain coming from? The sun roof? The door seals? Seeping in down in the footwells (soggy carpet)?

Sometimes "rain" can be mistaken for A/C condensate that is not draining due to a plugged condensate drain. If your A/C is running and it's hot and humid out then you should see some water drips on the ground underneath the front area of the vehicle. Let it sit in one location for a few minutes after you come in from driving it. Let it sit for a few minutes with the engine and A/C running. Move the vehicle and look for the telltale wet spots from the condensate drain. If you don't see a wet spot then chances are the drain is plugged. The condensate will back up and drain inside the car ...typically in the passenger footwell and making the carpet wet.

Water leak after rain, rear floorboards soaked? HELP!

a couple things to look at if it has a sunroof the sun roof would have drain hoses that run down in each corner next you need to look at the cowl this is the section in front of the windshield that has a drain on it as well if you find nothing there the next step would be to remove the seats and carpet and sit in the car while running water over it either way you should remove the carpet and make sure it is dry all the way threw or mold will start to grow and you will never get ride of it not good for your heath other key spots to look at is if the windshield was ever replaced it could be a poor seal

Cayenne wet carpets post huge service, which included new front brakes, replacement of AWS control module??? Never had issue until delivered post service. Please help!!!

If this happens when you're running the AC, the case drain is plugged. It is a flat looking rubber drain hose that lets condensate overboard before it wets the carpet. If it happens any other time, I'd look for a leaking heater core.
