I have the same problem..try looking at the frame above carpet level.Thera are two little holes .get a friend to poor water over the windscreen whilst puting your finger through the holes.i found running water. This can be drained by putting a screw driver under the frame and along the Jack line prise a small hole and the water will drain out easily....Now thats how you get the water out and not on the carpet ,,but how it gets in the frame im not sure..possibly just inside the engine compartment and a perrished rubber seal...HS

Water in rear footwell driver side

Open the both doors on the affected side , and swing open and close if you hear sloshing you may just have a blocked drain hole in the doors, if you hear nothing then check the rubber seals on doors and trunk , if seals are ok and no water in door I'd see if the rear washer line has broken , air con freeze could be an issue but would be more to the front than rear

Why is the drivers foot well filling with water on my 2009 volvo XC60 ?

Try cleaning out the small holes between your rocker panels and the sub-structure. They can be barely perceptible, but if you look carefully under the car, they are actually little channels that direct the water flow out of the car that leaks on during heavy rains. Use a coat hanger or other wire to re-open them and let the water out. If not, the floor will continue to get wet until the rockers rust out. Other causes may be seal leaks behind the glass, or trunk seal leaks especially in sedans.

its getting in somewhere then thats for sure and if you cannot find the ingress of water then drill a couple of 3/8th holes in each side of each floorwell ,this will allow it to drain without causing corrosion to the floorpans

Leaking inside the car everytime it rains

There is probably a drainage hole underneath the cowling under your windshield wipers. They're supposed to allow the water to drain out into the wheel well. See if the passengers side is plugged up. Collected water has to go somewhere and it will always find a place.

There could be a number of places the water could be coming from does the leak start from front and work its way back?
Try the following -

. A faulty seal at the bodywork joints below the reinforcing panel may allow water entry in the area of the side trim panel and bulkhead.
Check the area for faulty sealing. If necessary, seal the bodywork joints with sealer.

start with the easiest.

If you have a wet seat then it is likely defective weather stripping around the window.

Try this. If the floor is dry, then it rains and the floor remains dry, only gets wet after a drive in the rain or on wet streets, you may have a hole somewhere.

Check for holes from missing rubber grommets or holes in the floorboard or firewall from rust. Check for any rust holes or missing rubber grommets under the car or on the firewall, anywhere water can splash up into the vehicle from driving in rain or running through puddles..

Check wet spots along the carpeting all the way up under the dash, if the wet spot is higher than the floor itself, you could be getting the water from splashing through puddles.

Any holes under the car or in the fenderwell even up on the firewall can cause this problem.

First check for any obvious signs of rust, if none are found then look for missing or defective rubber grommets.

Ford fiesta 1.4 o2 reg .

Common thing, water drips from the windscreen washer jets onto the Ht leads and into the spark plugs, New coil, leads spark plugs and new washer jets, Ford are aware of this fault and now sell modified washer jets.

Good luck Davelee.

The sunroof drainage gets blocked.

your footwells will fill with water - even under your seats right to the back seats footwells

See two 10mm holes in front sides when sunroof is open.
a) push a flexible cable down from the top - it comes out just behind the front wheels. (use electric three core cable - or TV aerial cable - a hanger is too short) - you need about a metre and a half)
b) remove the inner mudgaurd behind the front wheels (2 screws) you will see the end of the plastic drainage pipes - remove the blocked black rubber cup at the end of these - why they are there is anybody's guess)
