I hate to be the one to tell you this but you have to lossen all the motor mounts and raise the whole engine at an angle so the the bolt will come out of the pulley. It took about an hour and some cursing but it wasnt that bad. HondaHow do you replace the tensioner pully on 99 Honda - 2_bing.gif quoted me at 160 bucks. Its almost worth it just to have them do it. If you decide to do it I will get more indept on how I did it.

Yes you have to loosen the mounts so you can lift the motor to get the the bolt in the middle of the pulley. Once that bolt is out you will be able to pull the pulley off to replace it. There is not much more to it. The majority of the work is lifting the motor.

What mileage or duration should I change the transmission oil of my 1999 Honda accord (HONDA ACCORD 1999)

My Accord V6 '99 has over 215,000. You can use synthetic transmission oil if its zr1 compatible. I change mine every 60,000 or so. Its 3 qts for the v6. The nissan maximas are the ones that have transmissions that generally dont last past 120,000 miles. Why do you still see many 98 and 99 accords still on the road Carlos?
If yours went at 70,000 than you need to buy a haynes manual and keep up with the maintenance on your car. By the way. Honda Accords are notorious for running fine after 200,000 miles. The parts are easy access and if you use a cheap obd2 scanner you can zero in on any problem with the car.

How many miles to replace 2000 honda accord LX V6 3.0

i am guessing that you are asking about replacing the timing belt on your honda .. if so then here is the replacement schedule

under normal driving 105,000 miles or 84 months
under extreme temp 60,000 miles or every 48 months (hot or cold climates)

its a good idea to change the water pump and tensioner pullies at the same time.. they dont add much to the parts cost ...

basic timing belt kit with pullies

kit with water pump and pullies

its not a good idea to wait for belt failure. interference engines like yours will do a lot of damage if the belt fails.

How do i change the waterpump in a 1990 honda accord

probably under timing cover behind timing belt and components, replace timinng belt and all tensioners and pulleys associated. very advanced and time consuming work. You didnt specify V6 or 4 cylinder.

Is there a tension pully for the serpintine belt on a 92 honda accord

no, you set the tension by slackening the bolts on the alternator and using a long handle screwdriver wedged between engine and alternator tighten so that the longest part of the belt between pulleys has about 1/2 to 3/4 inch slack too tight and the belt will snap very soon....too slack and the belt will slip...

How do i loosing up the tension belt's to replace the water pump??

serpentine belt drive or conventional serpentine uses a tensioner pully on the side if it it has a 3/8 or 1/2 drive opening for a socket put it in a pullaway from the direction its tensioning and slip it off. old school belts loosen the alternator adjustment and back the alt looseng nut by slide and the 14mm under it that brackets it down.

I have 03 Accord V6, what would happen if the tensioner for the timing belt goes bad?The car has 100,000 miles. Will the tensioner go bad at this point?

At 100k Miles, the timing belt is due for replacement anyhow. I recommend replacing the tensioner and the water pump, while its apart. If the tensioner goes bad, the belt will be trashed and you will be walking.

How do i adjust the timing belt on a 94 honda accord?

you should not have to adjust the timeing belt unless you are installing it. if you are installing it. I rotate the crank to take out the slack, and put the slack on the tensioner side. loosen the tensioner pull and pull it up tight with your hand and release it allowing the spring to keep the tension while you tighten the tensioner pully bolt.
If they ar too tight they make a high pitch groan heard easiest when reving up the engine. If the are too loose they may skip time. not good.
