Rear tire ware on the in side.

Rear tire wares on the in side of the tire. Out side of tire is brand new, inside is almost wore out.

Take your car to an alignment specialist...something has worn out or come loose causing excessive negative camber. A real quick and dirty way to check and see if its safe to continue driveing is to grab the wheel/tire and pull/push it. If it feels loose or makes noise, think seriously about having it towed to the repair shop.

Badly need a tire alignment. plain and simple, need tools and equipment to do that at cheapest will run over a grand. Alignment should cost under 100.

I have a set of Summers Brothers axles in a 9" rearend I just purchase. They are stamped #5009. Any idea what axles/ spine they are ??


No and not to many people would know this exact information.
But why are you trying to buy new axles for an old rear end .
In my experance with rear carriers everthing wares at the same rate and the problem is the bearings ware out at the wheel and damage the axle shaft .For what ever reason.
I think you would be better off trying going to a junk yard for the axle or axles just because its a problem putting brand new with old in this situation.
Deal with new bearings that is were the force is not at the spine you may reck the gears in the carrier

Both rear tires are wore inside...Why,?...The tires are just new, a couple of months ago


Possibly have bad rear struts or other rear suspension wear or damage. Check the Toe In/Toe out are within specs.

Left wheel shaking. How do you replace a rear wheel bearing on a 2001 VW Jetta


jack your car and block it
remove the tire
now look at the center of the drum and take the cap off the middle use a pair of chanel locks
once off you will see a cotter pin bend it strate and pull it out
now take the nut off once that is off its time to pull the drum off watch the barring will fall out
Ware you took the nut off
once the drum is in your hand lay it down and take a long screwdriver and push the back
barring out you will get a seal and barring drop out on the in side now is ware you want to look in side the hole in side you will see two shinny round races 1 in the front and 1 in the rear they
need to be knocked out you knock the rear out from the front
and the front out from the rear that is called barring and a race remember witch one is front
and witch one is rear all you need to do is clean them so you can read the numbers on the
barring and the race also clean the seal same thing you need the id numbers to match them

Rear wheels on my 2000 sport are tilted in on the top.


You need to have your rear wheel alignment checked you have too much camber on your tires

Parking brake


That lever is notorous for sticking it. First thing i would do is chauk the wheels and remove the rear tire. Pull the brake drum off and make sure the brake hard ware is not full of dirt and or rusted. It is relitively cheap for a new hard ware kit for toyota. Also when you have the rear drum off it take a hammer and free up the lever and stuck parts. use antisieze on all threads.
