1999 Jaguar XJ8L Where is the crankshaft sensor located on a 1999 jaguar xj8 ? , car wont start, checked the spark and it won't give a spark, well actually it gives a very little , bearly noticeable spark, Thanks.

If you go to the bottom rear of the engine it's located on the lower pan and looks like this;

If its sparking at all you might want to look elsewhere. i would start by checking condition of all the plugs and replacing if necessary. the problem is probably going to lie in your ignition module. check all your battery connections and make sure all are tight and clean. if the connections are dirty, this can effect driveability also.

Xj8 v8 sport is not firing


POSSIBLE CAUSE COULD BE FAULTY IGNITION COIL, FAULTY CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR OR PCM, BEST TO HAVE CAR CODE SCANNED.

Jaguar xj8 3.2 1999.after the cold weather,the car starts no problem but an amber light is on.and the dash is saying reduced performance.any help.thanks


This us ussually signs of a week Crank Positioning sensor. Get it replaced. If you have a trouble code 335 or 336, that is the discription. (some diag ports have a 1 in front going by 1335 or 1336.)

My transmission fault message is coming on and it does not want to accelerate fast. do you have any answers? My Jaguar is a xj8 1997 model


A small leak over period time will cause fault light (amber) to come on. There is no dipstick. Can only be refilled by dealer or certified Jag Mechanic. Cost of fluid at dealer $60. Quart. Check online; $15 quart

I HAVE A 99 JAGUAR XJ8 ....I HAVE CHANGED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR, BUT STILL WON'T START. SHOULD I CHANGE THE PLUGS NEXT OR THE STARTER. IT HAS 110,000 MILES. PLEASE OFFER SOME INSIGHT ON THIS SITUATION.

Very noisy squeky fron suspension on jaguar xj8


You might need a lube job or you may need to see if noise is coming from another place such as your engine water pump, brakes, power steering. Look for leaks.

i seen this same problem with a Toyota Tacoma.the starter was drawing the battery down all the time .we replaced the starter with no more trouble.

Stater for a jaguar xj8l 1998


starters is mounted on the bottom of engine. its a little long electric motor with a little drive gear that mesh to flywheel to turn engine over to crank.

later engine require old flywheel as crank senors are different.
