Question about 2003 Ford Expedition
I have a 03 Ford expedition and my power drivers side seat will not go up and down all the time.. And when it does it makes a clicking noise and just stops and some times when it goes down... Please Help with any IDEAS. I checked and there is nothing blocking anything and every thing seems to be pluged in... Could both of the motors be bad?
Had this same issue with my 2004 Expedition. I removed the seat, seat motor and seat track. I tested the motor by plugging back in but without the track and was spinning freely. Took the track to the Ford Dealer. Was able to speak to a service tech. Said it is not the motor it’s the track, it gets stuck if you move to the extremes of the up or down. It’s like over tightening a jar stuck and unable to open again. WHAT TO DO: there are to impellor rods the spin on both sides of the motor. The rods look like wound up springs. Reconnect the rods back in the track. Use your Electric drill to hold the other end of the to break free the stuck track by spinning the impellor rod. Do this for both side. make sure to align the rods properly before return the motor. Also, try not to fully extend the power seat to the very up or down of the track. This will keep from causing the stuck jar effect. ONE and DONE.. Hope this helps.

The gear shafts are powered by plastic gear wheels that over time will become stripped or cracked or lose teeth so that when you move the seat function you will get the clicking noise. It is an easy repair hard to locate the part. I have repaired a couple of these tracks with this problem. This occurs on the two vertical motors up/down motors and is caused from getting stuck as mentioned and over stressed. The 94-98 Ford Mustang power seat is nortorious for this problem.

Maybe your harness is cracked somewhere and thats whats causing the problem or your motors could be bad too..
