Ferrari 328 gts headlight won't pop up or down when car is hot

I have a bizzare problem, both my headlights will pop up and down all day when the car is cold but as soon as the car is up to temperature, the drivers side headlight either won't pop up if you switch the lights on or won't pop down if the lights have already been on while the car's getting warm,as soon as the car cools the problem goes away and they both work perfectly! can anyone help?

SOURCE: replace the timing belt

It is recommended to replace both the timing belt and the tensioner bearings every 30,000 miles for the models you listed. Other models like the 360 Modena are best replaced every 3 years. The cost (parts and labor) to replace the timing belt on both the Ferrari 308 and 328 will run about $3,000. The Ferrari 348 will cost a bit more at $4,000. No Ferrari is inexpensive to maintain. However, the 308 and 328 will be the least expensive for basic maintenance. Furthermore, if you plan to drive under 2,500 miles per year (or 5,000 miles - 2nd tier), you can insure the car as a collector's vehicle and pay a much, much lower insurance premium.

SOURCE: 1988 Ferrari 328 gts tachometer quit working.

i have had the same problem...another tach. could not be found... find an electronic expert that can take a look at the platin behind the tach. it´s easy to demount...you will most likely find one of the hair thick connections broken through the years of vibration.  if you are lucky the one inspecting the platin can also micro solder and repair the fault... and you don´t have that big load of questions when cruising with someone..."is the tach. broken!?" and youn don´t have to rely on your ears when shifting.

How is the best way to recharge freon in the ferrari 328.? any common point of freon leakage?

All vehicles will leak a miniscule amount of freon from the seals throughout the coolant lines, you can use a leak detector additive when adding freon or use a freon gas leak detector to find any substantial leaks in the system by guiding the probe around all the components while the vehicle and ac are running. You could use a heldheld freon charger with a built in pressure guage provided you have the correct fittings, otherwise I'd recommend having both your low/high pressure sides monitored while adding freon and making sure your compressor is turning on and off properly as the high pressure side reaches its peak.

1988 Ferrari 328 gts tachometer quit working.

The Tach is a tricky thing and sometimes just goes out. If all the other lights, etc....work and the tach is connected to the sensor, I suspect the Tach is bad.

89 328 gts cooling fans not working.

Cooling fans are fairly simple. Check the fuses first. There is a thermal switch located on the radiator. Disconnect and jump the two wires. If the fans don't come on, check to see you are getting power to the fans. There are two relays that turn the fans on and off. Highly unilkely they would both fail at the same time. I'm betting on the thermal switch being bad.
