Front end/ brake problem

The brakes have no relation to the tie rods,if they are
worn, replace both outer or inner ones, whichever is worn

You could have worn lower ball joints also & worn
stabilizer links.

I need to change tie rod end,the play is at the rack end.Can I change the rod or do I have to replace the whole rack, if I can what do I have to do.

If it the tie rod end, it is very easy from the wheel side.If you have to replace the tie rod it can be done the same way with a little more effort and the boot and retaining washer needs to be undone prior to removal

2000 LINCOLN LS - Outer tie rod removal assistance

Yes degreaser will not hurt it. The outer tie rod is retained only by one nut that connects it to the inner tie rod.Once you have this loosen just turn the outer tie rod to the left to remove it from the inner tie rod.

Am changing the inner tie rod on a 2000 cirrus with a 2.5 and cant figure out how to get old one off

to get the inner tie rod out you need an inner tie rod tool, it's a long tube that fits a 1/2 inch drive rachet and there's different size adaptors that go into the end of it to fit over the tie rod, find the right size put into tool, put over tie rod and brake it loose, reverse for installtion.

How too change inner tierod on 2005 pontiac g6

If you have electric steering(no power steering pump)you have to change the entire steering gear assembly as no part is available. If you have the system with a pump a part is available. In order to change the inner tie rod you would loosen the 21mm lock nut on the tie rod.remove the 18mm nut on the outer tie rod and spin off after removing the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle.Remove the nut and the inner and outer clamps on the tie rod boot.remove the boot. You would then need a special inner tie rod tool to turn the threaded inner rod from the steering gear.

I need a suspension diagram that shows the Inner tie rods.

The inner tie rods are screwed into ends of the steering rack assembly.

Look at this diagram. #6 is the rubber boots and #7 is the shaft from the inner tie rods.
