It sounds like its backfiring due to lack of fuel, the first thing is to make sure the fuel pump is good, that its got enough preasure you will need a fuel preasure gauge to do this, hope this helps

Dodge stratus V6 ?
You should have a check engine light on in your dash.
You will need to have someone plug in a OBD II reader to retrieve the code.
I believe the loud poping noise you hear is the engine backfiring, from either a fuel or electrical problem.
Please let me know what you find.

will try to assist you. did you have your clutch replaced professionally? if it's a popping or cracking sound when accelerating or turning, it's most likely a c.v. axle going bad. either on driver or passenger side in the front of the car right?if it is a bad c.v. axle it will pop and crack when you turn wheel from left to right at low r.p.m. if not this, you may have brake issues. either it's a grinding sound while accelerating or decellerating,as long as cars in motion the noise will persist.try tapping your brakes while in a parking lot in slow gear, hear something from driver front, have a passenger with the widow down on passenger side, hear it from front passenger side? the thing i go by is what i hear when i test drive to diagnose an issue with a vehicle is,axles?popping and cracking when turning the steering wheel from left to right at low speed. [axle problem] grinding, scraping sound? brake issues! hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com and we are here for you 24/7 7days per week thank you!!!!

96 Golf 2.0GTI 8v knocking noise from rear when accelerating

its probably your bump stops. the vw ones are very soft. i bought ford escort (the shape after the xr3) ones and cut them a little down to fit. i think the noise is either your shock touching or the sound of the tire scraping the body of the car. hope this helps.

Car makes a loud klunking noise in front right side after i accelerate

If it only does it when you accelerate, my first suspicion would one of the motor mounts, either the upper motor mounts or the lower one that I believe is on the passenger side of your vehicle.
