have you replaced the ignition module...i am not sure when they started incorperating them inside pcm, so check to see if you have an ignition module

Do these Fords have a crankshaft position sensor? What about a faulty ignition module?

Yes, if the ignition module doesn't receive the signal from the crank sensor it won't send fire to the coils or the signal to the ecm to run the fuel pump.

My next thing to check would be the fuel pressure. It sounds like the fuel pump is not doing a good job to me. I say this thinking the system is getting fire.

It does not have an ignition control module. The PCM (powertrain control module) fires the coil pack based on signal it recieves from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.
