Yes, had the same problem on my 05, The mechanism that operates the latch can fail, this part costs about $300 dollars and is only available at the dealer but you can save the labor and do it yourself.

My 2006 GMC Yukon back hatch will not open with the keyless entry and it does not have a key lock to insert key to open. Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix?

Same problems with my 2005 Yukon Xl Denali that I see a lot of other people having, steering wheel control lights out, climate control lights out, lift gait won't lock or unlock manually or with the keyless remote. You spend $65,000 on these vehicles with all these conviences and expect them to work for at least 5 out of the 10 years you'll have the vehicle. I bet you don't have these problems with a Toyota Sequoia!! Everybody says the whole switch must be replaced. Funny thing is, I found this little plastic box of bulbs that fell out of somewhere that looks like they might be the bulb end of a fiberoptic. And the liftgait lock seems to work temporarily, intermittently, after cycling thru the driver communication settings.

2005 GMC BACK HATCH WON'T OPEN

It sounds like the lock actuator has failed or has a poor connection which won't allow the latch to release. What you will need to do is remove the inside rear hatch panel to access the lock actuator. Once you get to the latch use a flat screwdriver to release the latch being careful not to damage the glass.

Rear hatch wont close. like latch locked closed before hatch is shut. how do i reset the lock?

With the doors unlocked, insert a screwdriver into the closed claw portion of the latch. Pull on the hatch door lever or push the button, while applying outward pressure on the claw. It will unlock and work normally again.

2006 Tahoe Rear Hatch lock actuator

A wrecking yard is your best bet. The odds of you getting one that is bad are astronomical. Are you sure your remote has fresh battery's? Also check your fuse going to that devise before buying another one. The second choice on where to find one is eBay. Of course they are usually higher then a wrecking yard. They get a lot of there parts for sale by going to the salvage yard them selves. I hope this helps and Good Luck, The Raz

Rear hatch will not unlock on my 05 Denali

Check the unlock mechanism for the hatch. These are controlled by an electrical motor pulling a cable. If the cable came loose you might or might not hear the click click that it makes. I would also check the fuses and relays related to the system. Usually if you can get the interior panel off all the innards are exposed. I would suggest pulling that panel off, then triggering the keyless remote and see if anything moves, that might pinpoint where it has gone bad.

I can't lock the rear hatch door on my yukon. There is no key lock and the remote button locks all the other doors but the rear hatch remains unlocked. Also the button on the inside of the vehicle does not...

The lock is stuck in the "locked" position.
When you close the hatch, it is jamming the latch hook into the wrong area.

Manually open the hatch. Unlock the hatch (even tho the hatch is already open). there are two bolts holding the metal "loop", the loop has moved. Adjust the metal loop and close the hatch / lock it, etc.

The rear hatch will not unlock; all other locks work fine

There is another person with the same problem. I would check the fuse. Otherwise the lock might be broken (my trunklock is the same way in my mustang).
