2002 ranger super cab. Why does alarm keep going off?

Hello. It seems your truck's key fob/remote either has a low battery and/or is 'wearing out'. The computer/alarm becomes 'confused' and can't decide if it should 'arm' or 'disarm'. This also causes slow to no operation of your vehicle's door locks. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

CAR ALARM ISSUES

It can be any of the car doors not got properly locked or the door is locked but the switch is not sensing the door locked. Open and close each door again properly.

Or else its problem with any of switch wiring getting in contact with alarm wiring causing it to happen.

And last thing alarm connections need to be inspected. It's getting short somewhere in between.

There are few help links with solutions, to troubleshoot these types of problems. I suggest going through these links.

How to disable 98 civic alarm keeps drain battery

Might have broken wiring harness wires that run from the cabin to the door. There is a rubber boot that covers this harness, runs near the door hinges, remove boot and check all wires and if you find any damaged or broken, repair and test auto door lock.

The battery is dead on my 2008 Ford Taurus X, the doors are locked and my keys won't unlock the door. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I've already tried the key less entry. That is...

I hate the way they have incorporated these new alarm systems so that you cant open the doors when the battery is dead, some cars will lock you inside unable to open door from inside. The electric door locks are what is keeping you from being able to unlock doors. Some people go to Auto Zone and rent the tool that can be slid into the door by way of the window opening, this doesn't always work. the best way to get in is to go under the car with a set of jumper cables and charge the battery from the large battery cable that is connected to the starter.. charge battery enough to access door locks P.s. it wont take much power to use key to unlock door after the battery has a small charge..

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee alarm keeps randomly going off.

this happened to me recently with my 96 grand cherokee. the battery got drained by the alarm going off randomly at night. i pulled the fuse for the horn so at least my neighbors would only be bothered by flashing lights. then i couldn't jump the car because the alarm was still going off. i hooked my car to jump it to another car, and then i had to deactivate the alarm first by putting my key in the driver side door and unlocking the car. then i left it hooked to another car and still getting power but didn't jump it for at least 5 minutes in case the computer needed to reset. then it jumped fine. from what i've read online, this is a common problem that can be avoided if you stop using the power locks and always manually lock and unlock the doors with your key. its a little annoying, but apparently the power locks are connected to the alarm issue. hope the same works for you.
