The inside of the ignition dealer (Delco) must be thoroughly cleaned and all metal parts passed with fine metal wool. Sparkplugs must also be cleaned or renewed. The air inlet-valve is very sensitive. The cylinder and the disc must be carefully cleaned with light metal wool and contact cleaner. The fault is due to the disc remaining stuck in the cylinder, so no idle function and malfunction of the auto-choke system. If this solution does not work, then the vacuum pressure is defective.Hint from a German Mercedes specialist.

The only way to be sure is to have your vehicle scanned for codes. As of about 98 Benz incorporated the e.s.p. and b.a.s. control units inot one unit. This module is the electronic stability program. It has a.b.s.,traction control and brake assist system all in one. This module along with your m.e.. (motor electronics) moniter your electronic throttle and all inturperate input and aide in controlling your throttle. This system is complete drive by wire and has no cable from you accelerator pedal to the throttle. it sounds like one of the modules is getting wet,or a power relay is getting wet and it is losing it's throttle memmory and trying to relearn it. you can shut down e.s.p. via a switch on the console and a yellow triangle is illuminated in the instrument cluster. If the yellow triangle flashes then the e.s.p. module is controlling the throttle because it sensed a wheel slipping. Have a complete vehicle scan because there are many modules on this data base (basically an intranet) and any one of these modules could disrupt the communication link of these modules. It may not be as ugly as it sounds. Trying to guess on these vehicles and throw parts at it is usually expensive and a waste of time. i hope i have been helpful.

This is the problem due to your anti theft alarm system. You have not mentioned which brand of anti-theft alarm system you have? Anyhow, most of the systems have a reset switch inside the kit, open the kit and on the main board, u will find the reset button, press that and hold for 5 sec, the system will be reset. Otherwise, there are 2 or 3 fuses with the wiring of kit, remove those fuses and ur engine will wake up but the anti-theft system wont work then, hope this will solve the problem
