Have you checked with dealer? I would think now with all of Toyota's problems, that Ford would be right on top of this. Call owner relations number in your manual, and explain that your going public with it, if something doesn't get done. My guess is that they will certainly get right on it.

This is the actuator for the AC/Heater systems temperature control blend door actuator motor drive, the blend door is sticking and the motor gears are jumping teeth. Very soon you will need to have this problem repaired as you will loose the ability to control the air temperature at the register air outlets.

Can't get my Mercury Mariner out of park. Some times it is fine and others..not so much. It is a 2005 with 52,000 miles on it. What the heck is going on with my ride and how much so I expect it to cost...

Connected to your brake pedal is a switch. When you mash the brake pedal down, it actuates a solenoid in shifter that allows you to put the car in gear. If that solenoid is going bad or the mechanisms in side the shifter are bad, then that will prevent you from being able to put it in drive.

My mercury mariner starts fine but wont shift out of park. Mostly only does this after sitting awhile, it's a 2006 model year with center console shift. The shift button on shifter wont depress.

There is a shifter solenoid that prevents it from being shifted out of park without your foot on the brake pedal. The solenoid may be bad or your brake pedal switch may be bad.

I HAVE A 2005 MERCURY MARINER. THE GAS PEDAL

Ask the service manager at the nearest Ford dealership by phone if they will take a look and not charge you since it's a critical safety item and could be a manufacturer's defect. A sticking gas pedal is something they should take pretty serious since that part certainly should not fail on a five or six year old car and recent publicity surrounding the Toyota problems has made all dealerships more responsive to that type of consumer complaint or problem.

My gas pedals stick, especially in cold weather, and this is very dangerous, especially when Iam in traffic & ny car will not go!

Go staight to your dealer/service station, with the recent Toyota problems streaming over into other makes with similar parts this is not anything you want to play with!!

Accelerator pedal sticks

if it sticks when you first touch pedal clean air intake with carb cleaner. remove 3" hose from air filter and have someone press gas pedal, when you see the flap open and close that is what you need to clean. get all the black carbon out. then let sit for 30 min befor you start.
