There is a plug on the back of the lighter that likes to come off. You will have to remove the Lighter to check or the panel its attached to.

Ciggy lighters generally have an independent fuse. Either in the engine fusebox or more commonly under the dash as an inline fuse. Normally directly behind the fitting. Fuse No 12 @ 20amp mate.

No you must get behind the lighter element to remove the large screw on barrel nut that retains it to the dash.

2005 ford f150 cigar lighter not working

1. Check the fuse #41 in the cab fuse panel.
If you did not get an owners manual with your truck ( purchased used ), you can download one from Ford :

2. Are you using a device ( MP3 player, GPS, etc ) to test that it is not working, or a meter ?
- Could be the fuse in the tip of the DC adapter for the device is blown.

Wheres the lighter fuse

The cigarrette lighter fuse should be located either behind the glove compartment in the fuse holder if there is one, or below the steering wheel behind the dash, just above the accelerator/brake and or clutch pedal. Should be a 10 amp mini fuse (red)

I have a 05 v70 that has no power to the stereo or front cigar lighter. I have proved the stereo and that the fuses are ok. Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with that car, but you might be certain they have a proper ground. Also, many cigar lighters have a fuseable link on the back where the power plugs on. I've seen the links corrode up and quit working. You merely crimp where they attach and it will work again. Some stereos (after market) have a separate fuse inline (not only the vehicle radio fuse). You might also just change the fuse. I've seen some that looked good, but had a hairline fracture and therefore did not conduct. I hope this helps you find your problem.
