There is no dip stick on some of these models, to check the transmission fliud level you will need to check from bottom of the car and to add there is a red cap on the top of the transmission.

there is a small cap bolt on the passenger side of the ****** located in the area of the axle going into transmission, the car needs to be at operating temp and lifted level with engine running remove the plug and fluid should drip out, if not add fluid with plug out a pint at a time until fluid starts to drip out . note add a pint and shift in all gears and back to park and check for dripping fluid if dripping install cap. it is full.when adding ,after each pint run shiffter into all gears first. good day

Where do you check the transmission fluid?

The vehicle should only have an engine oil compartment, radiation compartment for antifreeze/ water, power steering fliuds, a water wiper blade spray dispenser compartment, and finally the transmittion fliud container area all situted within the engine entrapment area. Usually, opening the engine for the first time would require observing the fliud compartments that are identifyable from the remaining engine chambers. Observing closely on the fliud container should have written descriptions of what is expected within compartment. For example, the water fliud containers for wiper blades would usually have written lables as wiper blade fliud container, radiantion container would usually have the antifreeze demarkation logos visibly observable when engine is opened. Rely by elimination methods to ascertain the transmission fliud compartment. For example, once antifreze container, wiper water container, engine oild container, power steering fliud containers have been identified, the most like only remaining in the engine would be the transmition fliud compartment. Alternately, every fliud container within the vehicle engine is situated at separate areas. For example, the only fliud container closest to the transmittion chamber is the engine oil compartment. The vehicles usually require more engine oil than transmission fliud. Between both fliud containers, the smallest chamber for fliud oil is usually for transmission perposes in the absence of hydraulic fliud compartments with newer vehicles.

If the trany fliud is full then i would say yes replace the trany,be sure to flush out all the cooler lines and the cooler itself. if your useing a used trany make sure to install a new front and rear seals and also replace the filter and pan gasket, good look.

My automatic transmission slips when shifting from

Either the fluid is low or you have a clogged trany filter or are starting to loose your transmition. If it is just low on fliud you will ruin your trany if you keep driving it with this condition.Check your fluid level with the engine running and if it is low fill it to the full line and test drive.

Burnt Fluid .....Not Good..Sounds like you're gona need a rebuilt one..with installtion Big Bucks....National Chain $ 1200.00.getting one from salvage use nationwide online scrapers...$ 400-500.You got nothing to loose try adding Transmedic to your transmission. You can also have tranny fliud sucked out and repaced at Service Station $75 but as many people will tell you a 22 year old tranny sometimes it the old fluid that kept them working(with all the **** in there) Good Luck.

Transmission won't pull when hot on 1990 plymonth voyager

There is no diagram for doing this job; however; you need a motor support that goes across the top of the fenders to hold it in place while performing this task. disconnect the battery, first. To remove the trany, there is a matter of the electrical connections that go to the solenoid, which brings me to another point...the computer if it has never been updated; it needs to be at this point. Next, there are the trany lines, the axles, the bell housing bolts that need to be removed...the convertor bolts will need be removed from the flywheel. Upon installation of the converter, you must make sure that it clicks into place on the trany about twice or that it seats well before you try to install the trany. These are only a few things that need to be done. After, you are successfull with the task, there is the fluids, about 12 qts, there is the bleeding of the return line that should be done in a bucket while going through the gears and watching it to make sure that when it starts looking clean...your done with that task. Then there is the engine that will run like **** for a while after restart since that computer has to relearn. And then there is the relearn process that you will have to take the trany through that can be done by driving the van on a road with no traffic. The directions to that can be obtained through a transmission book, but when performing this task through each gear, you cannot be stopped by another vehicle until the last task is performed or it will need to be repeated...or by the way the trany will shift very harsh until this task is done right...still think you want to do this...go to a transmission shop and talk to an experience person to lead you through the steps...hope this helps.
