Question about 2006 Hyundai Elantra
There is an electric lock selinoid that disengauges when you depress the brake pedel. Check fuses and switch at the brake pedel and check selenoid under the shift cover. There should also be a small oval cap you can remove with a sharp object by the shifter and slide your key into it to manually put the car in N. You can then remove your key and start the car.
