Oil Change in 1984 Mitsubishi Sigma

I am trying to change the oil in my 1984 Mitsubishi Sigma, can someone tell me how to release the current oil in the engine.

On the bottom of the engine, there is a metal cover. This is the sump and contains the oil. Somewhere at the bottom of this cover is a plug, it has the head of a bolt and a copper washer. Turn the bolt counter clockwise to remove it. When you remove this bolt, the oil will flow out so have a tray ready to catch it. Let the oil drain until it stops running out ( which can take several minutes) Clean the surface where the bolt tightens against the sump, replace the copper washer and screw the bolt back in by turning it clockwise. It should go in quite easily. If it only goes in by a few turns and then gets tight, remove it as you have crossed threaded it and try again.. You really should remove the oil filter and replace it too. This is a cartridge which is screwed onto the side of the engine, a bit like a baked bean can. It will say that it is n oil filter on it. Now, these can get very tight so if you do not have the correct tool to remove it, hammer an old screw driver into it and use the screwdriver as a lever to turn the filter counter clockwise. Screw it all the way off and discard. Next, clean the machined surface where the filter screws on to make sure that it is clean and that there is non of the old sealing ring left behind. Take the new filter and wipe some new oil onto the rubber sealing ring to lubricate it and help with fitting. Screw the new filter onto the thread clockwise until it begins to touch the engine. Then turn the filter another 3/4 of a turn. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN or you will damage the filter and make it very difficult to remove it the next time. Refil with engine to the mark on the dipstick. Start the engine and run it until the oil warning lamp goes out, then stop the engine, wait five minutes and then recheck the level using the dipstick. Wipe the oil off the dipstick, put it back in then remove it and read off the level, top up as required..DO NOT ADD MORE OIL To RAISE THE LEVEL ABOVE THE MARK ON THE DIPSTICK. !!! this can cause serious damage to the engine, and your your bank balance..

I have a 2003 lincoln Aviator I recently just change my oil and put in Synthetic oli well on on the gauge a message came up saying "oil change is required' can someone solve this problem for me the setup control to enter system check then press setup control to display "oil life =***% hold reset = new. and hold the reset control for 2 seconds and release. I want to change the oil on my 1991 gmc vandura 3500 but i dont know how

It cost the same for you to do an oil change or take it some where and have them do it, about $15 - $25 take it to someone who knows what there doing, you don't want to burn your car up because you left the oil filter gasket on.

I have a 1984 Pontiac Firebird. Car was running great, then one day my son started it and he said sounded bad so shut it off. Now won't start and I believe there is fuel in the oil. What causes that?

That doesn't seem to be a likely issue.
Sounds like it could be your starter, if it's not attempting to turn over try tapping the starter with a hammer while simultaneously having someone attempt to crank it over.
If there was fuel in the oil, you'll need to immediately drain the oil and change the oil filter. I would also recommend replacing with synthetic oil.

If no one else answers you, I would guess 4-5. Just add 2 and then check the level after every half you add and see where the level is on your dipstick. I don't have the specific answer but tis will work and I hope I helped.

To reset the oil monitoring system to 100% after each oil change
[approximately 5,000 miles (8,000 km) or 180 days] perform the
1. Select this function from the
SETUP control for current display
2. Press and release the RESET
control to display “HOLD RESET
3. Press and hold the RESET
control to display OIL LIFE SET TO
100%. Your oil life is now reset.

I just want to know if you can tell me where the bolt is to release the oil so i can change it under the car. I have located the oil filter but not the tank. 2002 chevy malibu

It will cost you $25 minimum to change your own oil...then you have to dispose of the refuse oil.

It will cost you $28 to $35 to go to the nearest Kwik Kar/Giffy Lube; essentially $10 to have someone change the oil for you. And you don't have to find a place to dispose of the used oil.

It's not economical to change your own oil anymore.

4G32 oil capacity

van hmmm.. . . . whats the dispacement? cuz there are 4g32s 1600's and 2 litters. . . good estimate is about 4 liters. . . . to be sure change the oil at night. . then jjsut check the level in the morning before turning it on. . but in pretty sure its 4 liters.

Ford Explorer Oil change rest message

Turn ignition on. Don't start the car. When the message shows up press setup. It will tell you to press reset to reset the oil life to 100 %.
