Sounds like you have timming chain problems. You can check this by putting your harmonic balancer on the mark that shows top dead center or 0 degrees, Once you have that done pull your number one spark plug and see if the piston is at the top of its stroke. You can also check this by loosening the hold down bolt on your distributor and while you have someone cranking the engine over move the distributor one way and then the other. If the engine tries to fire then you have probably jump some teeth on your timming gear which is the result of just plain old wear. Be careful when doing this as to not get your hand in the cooling fan!!!! If your mustang has high mileage on it then this is probably your problem. I recommend a double roller timing chain as a replacement because they last longer. Good luck

I have a 94 Buick Park Avenue that won't start, not even try.turns over well, battery good, new ECM, doesn't seem like it's firing. Please help. Any suggestions?

Put a spark tester on the plug wire and see if you are getting fire to the plugs. Check to see if the fuel pump is running when you turn the key on. Check the fuel filter from the fuel pump to make sure it is not plugged. You can put a small amount of fuel in the throttle body by spraying it in and see if it starts. Check the catalytic converter to see if it is plugged.

If the vehicle is equipped with a timing belt, make sure it hasn't jumped throwing the valve timing off.

My '99 chevy truck with 5,7L 350 will start but wont stay running. put new fuel pump and relay switch in

First you must determine if the fuel is stopping or the spark is stopping..If the fuel is stopping this could be a computer problem.. If the spark is stopping then it could be the IGN Module in the distributer. or any nomber of sensors. Squirt a little fuel directly into the Throttle body on the intake manifold.. If the truck runs longer its probably loss of fuel.. Do this several times to make sure, be careful and only use a small amounty of fuel.. you do not want a fire.. RE: Spark: Take a plug wire and an old plug..put the wire on the plug.. hold the plug against a good ground .. have someone crank the engine .. does the plug stop firing? The engine dies.. and will not restart for a minuet or so.. during this "no start" time do the plug test. If the plug will not fire during this time take the module out and take it to Orillys Auto parts.. They can test it.. really expensive part. Don't replace until you know it is BAD..

I put plugs and wires in my roadmaster and new feul pump and it wont stay running, what to do?

Do a system test with a diagnostic scan tool and check for any trouble codes> Do a compression test> Check valve timing make sure that when #1 cylinder is firing the piston is at TDC.> Chech for vacuum leaks > check for exaust back pressure (plugged catalytic converter)>good luck

Replaced everything under the sun on our 87 olds delta 88...wont fire on its own but will fire and run fine as long as u shoot it with starter fluid. We replaced starter, fuel pump, filter, plugs, wires,...

Can you here the fuel pump running?no, check fuse, and pump relay. Check pump fuel pressure,at the fuel injector rail,or throttle body. Check for voltage at the top wiring on the fuel nozzel. While cranking look for pulsating voltage.None, test computer, scan system. let me know the outcome.

The car ran out of gas and I had to put 5 gallons in it to get it start yesterday then today it has between emety and and quarter tank and would not fire... I can hear the pump run and so I put 3 more...

WHEN YOU RUN OUT OF GAS IT WILL CAUSE FUEL PUMP DAMAGE CAUSING IT TO OVERHEAT.CHECK FUEL PRESSURE IT SHOULD BE 41 - 47 PSI. IF NOT REPLACE FUEL FILTER.IF FUEL PRESSURE STILL LOW OR 0 . FUEL PUMP BAD.

Ok my 88 beretta is having stallin issues,it will

Buy a code reader or borrow one if you have a friend that has one. Sounds like ICM (Igniton Control) Or if it isnt fire then try fuel filters. Could even be water in the fuel. hard call without inspecting it
