2004 Chevy Impala Power Steering gone

I have a 2004 Chevy Impala V8. I went to pull out of my driveway this morning and as soon as I reversed the car, I lost my power steering. When I looked there was a big trail and puddle of power steering fluid. Is my pump gone or did I bust the lines etc? Can someone please tell me if this is a big job? Expensive etc?

Thanks...I will check the overflow. It was freezing out yesterday morning (-15) when I started the car and it happened when I put it in gear and step on the gas...then there was no steering. That would be great but with my luck I won't get my hopes up :) Thanks Kim

If it is a line no it usually isn't big or expensive. If it is your pump that is expensive for the part but usually not to bad to do. But first see if it is that or if you live where it is really cold it could have just overflowed.

I forgot one thing if your car has a rack and pinion that could also be out. Those are expensive also but not to bad to install

What does it mean when code p1516 shows up on a06 chevy impala

There is a service bulletin on this for some Chevy trucks, may include your model of car. I would check with Chevy to be sure.
The code means the computer has received a reading from the throttle position sensor that is out of range and not what it should be.
The throttle actuator control module would need to be tested to proceed.

I have a 06 impala. During the snow, my power steering went out. I noticed all the fluid leaked out into my driveway. So I put another bottle of power steering fluid in it, didn't help a bit. The wheel is...

couple different ways to leak the fluid out, and cost depends on what part failed. so someone is going to have to put their eyes and hands on it to answer that question.
