Question about 2000 Lincoln Town Car
I just had the sensor replaced, changed to a heavier oil, replaced the thermostat, and flushed the coolant picked up my car and the oil light comes on after the car warms up when I slow down, Could I have gotten a bad sensor or does this sound like an oil pump? I don't want to keep fixing stuff by their guessing. Took it back to shop for 4th time. They removed sensor and checked oil pressure-- cold it was 70 psi. Hot is 32 psi. Now they say the oil pump is weak and it costs $1051 to replace. Asked why they didn't check before given issues and got excuses. What do you think?
Hot at Idle speed is 32psi? nothing wrong with that. Below 10 psi at hot idle, thats bad, a oil pump isnt going to fix it.
