As close as I could tell, there is a short in one of the wires. the voltage should be 12 volts,. good luck and if the fuse keeps blowing, it has a short in curcuit, wire might be bare and touching metal and grounding out. good luck toolman, try and check voltage at wire and check the connector and see if it is ok! its hard to really say with out looking at it , but check for ground. I have a 2004 chevy surban that keeps blowing the ignition fuse what can cause this

You have a direct short to ground on that power feed circuit . You need to find a power distribution diagram to see what all gets is power from that fuse . Isolate the circuits till the fuse doesn't blow any more , then trace out that circuit that blows the fuse .

Which Ignition fuse ? Which fuse box is it in ? under hood , passenger compartment ?
IGN A

Ignition Switch RUN, START, RUN/START/ACCY
IGN B

Ignition Switch RUN/ACC, RUN/START
Could be ignition switch problem , Chevy has had problems with them .

How to trace a short in my clutch ignition switch leading to my starter. the # 24 fuse blows when i press the clutch

10 volts is not enough should be 12 min. What happens if you disconnect the switch? Does it still do it. Does that fuse do anything else?

Put new marine stereo in boat when hooked up battery crossed wires with second battery and blew fuse, now keeps blowing same fuse

If you mean you put the two batteries in series and loaded the radio with 24 volts, you need a new radio. You will have melted components inside and are causing a dead short.

do you have acell phone or other charger plugged in or multiple chargers?? i seen so many that draw way to much and keep blowing fuses. we've run several hot sockets direct from the battery to provide power for such dont forget to fuse it !

On 2005 mustang keeps blowing fuse 47 in fuse box under hood I have checked every thing it can find

that fuse could be burning out because of the oxygen sensors. Change them out. See if that takes care of the issue. If not then on the under hood fuse block unhook the black and white connections. Try the a/c again. If it does not blow the fuse, hook one of those back up and see, If they both blow the fuse. trace the red and yellow wire to check for shorts.

HORN ON 1987 HONDA ACCORD NOT WORKING. FUSES LOOK GOOD. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE?

I'd start by hooking 12 volts with a battery charger directly to the horn to see if it blows. then check if you have power to the positive connector when activating the horn button. Then if you dont, see if you have power to the horn relay, located in or near the fuse box

1996 Cavalier 12 Volt power outlet in car doesn't work right?

Even thought the plug in is 12 volt. It's ouput is different. Most electronics have different ranges from 3-9 volts.
Does the 12 volt charger put out 12 volts? If so, it would burn up the electronics' capacitors on their power supplies.
How is the car's electronics doing? Are they too failing? If so, that would be a faulty voltage regulator, if not, I would hook up anything you use to the radio wires.
You cannot plug in anything directly to battery no matter what the person told you. Batteries charge, than release charge, a contiuous cycle. The power output is speratic and anything hooked straight up to the battery will need a fuse.
