I cannot locate the PVC Valve. Where is it

To remove a PVC (positive crankcase ventilation) valve from a 2004 Dodge 1500, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Locate the PVC valve. It is typically located on the engine, near the throttle body or intake manifold.
2. Disconnect the battery. This is important to ensure safety while working on the vehicle.
3. Remove the PVC valve hose. The PVC valve hose is connected to the engine with a clamp. Use a screwdriver or pliers to loosen the clamp and remove the hose.
4. Unscrew the PVC valve. The PVC valve is held in place with screws or bolts. Use a socket wrench or a screwdriver to remove these fasteners and take out the PVC valve.
5. Install the new PVC valve. Follow the steps in reverse order to install the new PVC valve. Make sure to tighten all the fasteners securely and reconnect the battery before starting the engine.

Note: If you are not familiar with automotive repair or are not comfortable working on your vehicle, it is recommended to have the PVC valve replaced by a professional mechanic.

Look for a elbow shaped tube on the top of the valve cover.
It looks like only a connector but inside of the elbow is the valve.
The elbow shaped PVC valve tends to clog faster than ones that are designed to be straight.

pcv valves are generally located on top of the engine's valve cover. A tube made of rubber generally goes to it.

The PVC Valve is located on the valve cover of your engine.

Both the 1.6 and 1.8L 4cyl. engines have the pcv valve located in the valve cover @ top of engine. It's usually just pushed in a rubber grommet on the valve cover. Twist while pulling, and it should come out. Let me know how you make out.

It should be going to your valve cover.


NOTE: On VIN K applications, the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is mounted to the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve cover

#10 is the PCV valve.

The PVC valve is located in the valve cover (top "cover" of the engine, near the oil filler cap) On DOHCs, it is immediatly to the right. On SOHCs, it a few inches to the left.The PVC valve is held to the valve cover with a rubber grommet type seat.

1. Remove the hose that connectes the throttle body unit to the PVC valve.
2. Using your hands, remove the PVC valve from the rubber seat. Wiggle it back and forth, then pull it straight out.
3. You can either clean this with carb cleaner, or simply replace it with a new one (<$5 at most auto stores)
4. Put the PVC valve back into the rubber seat and replace the hose

The PVC valve should be located on top of the oil cap near to the valve cover.
To remove the valve take off the protective plastic cover and undo the two small bolts that hold the falve using a 22mm wrench.

the pvc valve is located on the oil separator housing which is located on the side of the timing cover.
