The water jug has a float inside of it that maybe stuck. tap on the side of the jug ,it may come unstuck.

I drive a Camry V6 3.0L Every time I top up the coolant to the recommended level and after driving the contents in the reservoir boil over and spill out.


There may be a slight head gasket leak to the coolant jacket, not large enough to overheat the engine. It is normal for some coolant to escape at operating temp, but not lots, and it should cool down to about the recommended level again.

Something is pressurising the coolant jacket. Have it tested for the presence of combustion gasses in the coolant. This is a simple test.

Another thing, that model often develops a crack in the radiator plastic top tank. It is not the problem here, but worth knowing.

I have a 96 Jetta GL and I just replaced the thermostat in it because I have no hot air coming out of the vents and now my car is running hot. What is the problem and how could I fix it?

Why is my add coolant light on


your coolant light is on because there is not enough coolant in the radiator. When the coolant is hot it expands and the excess water is pushed out into the reservoir and as it cools down the water is sucked back in and so keeps the top tank of the radiator full. However if you have a leak or a faulty radiator cap the water comes out ok but instead of sucking back in water it allows air in instead. Therefore you have a one way circuit of water out but no water back in. Your coolant light is telling you to check out the fault before you over heat the engine

Air in lines for cooling system of 95 nissan maxima


Hello Michelle, my name is Michael and I too had air in the cooling system and this is how I got it out. I had to raise the front end to where the middle of the front bumper was about 40 inches. I removed the radiator cap and immediately had ton add more coolant till it was visibly full at the radiator filler neck. Make sure the cap on the overflow reservoir is on tight. Now start the car and observe the filler neck because you will probably have to add more coolant. once it is full turn on the heater to the max position and direct it to the feet and econ. you should see a lot of bubbles coming from the radiator filler neck. That is the air being purged from the system. make sure you fill with coolant as needed. Now when the t-stat opens you'll see the coolant drop from the filler neck because it's being exchanged from the engine block do not add coolant at this point. Put the radiator cap back on and remove the screw holding the overflow reservoir and raise the reservoir above the radiator and squeeze the tube to get the air out of the tube. Once the air is out and the tube is filled with coolant put the reservoir back in place and fill with coolant to the FULL mark. Shut off the engine lower vehicle and let the engine cool down and remove the radiator cap and fill with coolant till it is visibly full and replace the radiator cap. I had to do this twice but it worked and my car is operating at normal temperature and with the same stroke took care of a few other problems. Hope this helps and good luck to you.

The proper way to fill radiator with coolant


Wait until the vehicle has cooled down. Make sure the coolant reservoir is not over full. With a rag in your hand, press down on the radiator cap and turn counter clockwise. Gently release downward pressure. Fill with appropriate coolant. This will either be dextron (red) or regular glycol/water (green at a 50/50 mix). Close radiator cap by reversing the instructions above. Top up coolant reservoir. Start vehicle. Bring to operating temperature. Check reservoir to ensure is still full. If not, repeat procedure.

My Chevy Venture 1999 when I drived the temperature was normally, but when I stay the temperature was hot. I changed the termosthator but the problem is continually.


Check the coolant reservoir and the radiator for proper coolant level. If low you probably have a leaking intake gasket or possibly a head gasket leak. The intake leak will be visible on either end of the intake manifold, located at the very top portion of the engine. The head gasket usually shows up at the rear head, nearest the belt. You could have a water pump leaking and this would show coolant on the ground under the right front of the engine, more so when the engine is running. They are very common for all 3 problems.

Low coolant light is on with full radiator


Check the coolant top up reservoir. Low coolant sensor is usually in the overflow/reserve container.
Wash out and clean any dirt or corrosion from the sensor prong.
Refill to correct level with fresh coolant, then recheck alarm operation.
