When i turn my heater fan on does the air compressor come on and why would the car shake

The air compressor will come on if you have the defroster on. Most vehicles run the ac with the defrost to dehumidify or dry the air blowing on your windsheild. The compressor being on at idle could cause the car to idle slower and rougher which could be the shaking you are talking about.

its supposed to come on when you select that position because actually thats the defrost for the windsheild so iit shoots out high select medium for it to blow through vents

2001 dodge durango windsheild defrost stays on the vent wont switch

There is 1 of 2 possible things that cause this. 1 there is a vacuum line loose or damaged. It will be coming through the fire wall. 2 the vent select / temperature control unit is defective.

My turn signals wont work... not even the blinker light on the inside will turn on... but when i lock my truck the lights will still flash and everything.. just the lever inside wont click them on

We had the same problem and its the windsheild/turn signal switch that has gone bad so you are going to have to buy a new switch or have no turn signal or 4ways. The whole windsheild /turn signal/4 ways is around $100 - $150.

2001 Ford Mustang Cobra air conditioning problem

most fords were built to whenever the air is on to blow air onto the windows as well. most people dont notice it cause its only a partial air. if it is blowing out pretty hard then the most likely cause of that is that the little flap in your air ducting is stuck or the return spring on it has gone bad. hope i helped, good luck with the fix.

When I turn my vent selector to defrost on the far right (air con off)the air conditioning comes on. The dash vents will blow ambient air, but defrost setting blows air con. Any ideas?

It's normal for the A/C compressor to come on with the defroster to dehumidify the air so the windsheild won't fog up under humid conditions. You can still control the air temp. out the vents with the temp. select switch.
