Hello, usually when pulling steering wheel u need to rent a steering wheel puller, the spring that is inside is hard to push in. once you get off it is almost impossible to put back on with out puller, you have to push spring in then put the nut back on and then the clip, that keeps steering wheel from coming off

You have to replace the switch inside the steering column. Last one I got I had to get from the dealer but you could try a parts store.

1998 Chevy Blazer ignition parts in steering column

It is the passlock seneor. Is the wiring a 2 wire connector with an orange coating? If so then the connection is at the base of the column. You can tape the new wiring to a coat hanger put grease on it and fish it down through the column. You will have to perform a theft learn when you get it back together. Good Luck.

IT is under the floor board, under the carpet or flooring you have. It is coming up from under that. It should be fairly easy to locate once you pull back the carpet
