Hey there, i had the same problem, if you have taken it to the toyota house or mechanic, they have either told you that you need a new gear, or some other expensive repair right? well if your transmission was really THAT bad, you wouldn't be able to move your car at all! Now, with that in mind, take the car to your TRUSTED mechanic and have him order you the part you NEED, its called a shift solenoid, they usually go out at around 150,000miles, i replaced mine and it ran just fine, but, you also have to know which one is bad, so just let your mechanic do it. hope this helps, RATE ME PLEASE?

98 Honda crv transmission between 20-45 mph let up on the gas and accelerate there is a rumble, bank clank noise if I dtep harder it stops what is the cause

It is more than likely some of the bearings in the transmission are worn, when you step on the gas it puts pressure on the bearings thus noise stops but it will get worse and eventually collapse get repaired now to avoid further damage. Topsi

'93 corolla,4 spd.auto trans.speedometer reads10 mph slow and the transmission shifts real fast. Its in third gear bythe time u hit 30 mph. Also wont downshift at this point either.

well what you want to do is change the trans control solenoid or the trans modulator.i know this car has a trans modulator but im not sure that it has a trans solenoid.either way it's a lot cheaper than changing the trans.hope this info helps. take care and good luck, manny

Need diagram for replacing front hub assembly on

to get the cv joint axle off on the 98 corolla, you have to remove the wheel, shock/strut, and control arm, pop it out of the transmission, and replace, i think there is a cover that you might have to take off first before you get to the cv, its been about 6 months since i replaced mine, sorry... but good luck and god bless, Please Rate me!

Loud annoying sound when driving over 35 mph

Check the fluid level and make sure. If the fluid level is not the problem, I would have someone do a complete check on the front end.

1998 toyota corolla shakes before 2 rpm, check engine lights up

Not sure what is causing it, but it sounds like you're running on 3 cyllinders. Check plugs, wires, timing . timing belt may have jumped, bad injector, low fuel pressure.

96 corolla hesitates and jerks

The jerking and shuddering at 45-50 mph seems like it could be a transmission/torque converter problem. Check your transmission fluid. Make sure it is at the right level, and that it is not dark or burnt. It should be a bright red or pink.
