How do you charge the air conditioning system for a 2000 chev astro mini van

You can not do it yourself. You have to be licenced to use refrigerants and have the proper equipment to pull a vacuum, test and charge etc. Not a driveway job.

Vehicle: 03 Chev Astro Cargo Van. Style: 2WD/RWD; 4.3 liter Engine Problem: Yesterday, 'Service Engine Soon' light came on, today Brake light and ABS Light came on

It could be many different of things, but I would check the charging system and battery first. I have had many under charging GM vehicles that all the dash warning lights would light up.

How to fix surging and fast idle 1999 chev astro van

Clean the throttle /throttle plate, MAF(mass air flow sensor) (if you have one), and the idle air control motor. You can use brake clean and a toothbrush. But not on the MAF sensor. Just spray it with brake clean.

Where is the thermostate located in a 2000 chev astro van

Simply follow the top radiator hose back to the engine, the thermostat is under the water inlet (the part the top radiator hose connects to).

Hope this helps.

The air conditioning does not blow through front vents but through windshield vents, what is the problem?

This is a common problem on all Astro/Safari vans. The problem is a leak in the vaccum lines that control the vaccum switch responsible for changing air direction from the defrosters, dash vents, floor vents..etc.
Many of the problems that plaque the Astro/Sarfari vans and many other "Mini-Vans" is the build up of excess heat in the engine compartment. It\'s a tight place to put a V6-4.3 Vortec engine and the heat generated bounces back and cooks everything on the engine (coils, modules, sensors, wiring, and of course plastic vaccum hoses). No need to mess with your switches or anything behind the dash -- replace those thin plastic vaccum hoses to operate the vaccum switch (located just below the A/C canisters, to the right of the heater/ac blower housing) and your dash switches will magically send heated or cooled air where you want it.
