Inertia switch is located Under right side of dash, on heater plenum. Do you hear the fuel pump turn on when turning ignition on? you can hear pump by opening fuel door and put ear against while having someone turn ignition on, another test would be to install a fuel pressure gauge on scradder valve and reading fuel pressure - recommended

I have already did with the above tests, inertia switch is off(check ball not moved)=fuel pump runs, 40 psi at rail KOEO and during crank steady pressure.

checked spark at all 8 cylinders, New coil, but needs wires runs off starting fluid only..?I have fuel at 40 psi at the rail maintains steady, fuel pump runs, check the EEC connector/harness in case of corrosion or frayed wires/pins , the FPR doesn't not leak out, injectors can be heard actuating,I seen and smelt fuel at plugs, but I did have certain instances that the starter would act up,Im afraid the motor isnt moving though but i marked the drive belt just in case and it moved meaning the motor couldnt have seized, but I have experienced before is that when it ran it backfired, and spat out black smoke, I am really at a lost here. any suggestions would kindly be appreciated.

I replaced the fuel pump in my 1992 Ford Tempo and it still won't start it cranks over but won't start any ideas ?

Are you getting fuel pressure from the pump to the fuel rail? You need to do a fuel pressure test to determine if there is actually a fuel supply to the fuel rail. Is the vehicle getting spark? Have you removed a plug wire and grounded it out while cranking the engine over to test for spark? How did you come to the conclusion the fuel pump was bad? Was the fuel filter changed as well?

My 2000 Ford Explorer, Eddie Baur edition, died while I was driving it. The shop thought it was a fuel pump issue, however after putting a new one on and changing some spark plug wires, the truck started...

Any thing made by man can be fixed if the repairer has enough experience to face the challenge.. Unless you have jump started the car recently then there should be nothing wrong with the CPU . I would have done a fault code test first and checked for sensor that will cause the fault-- Starting and stopping could be an immobiliser problem---bad ignition switch ( not keeping contact in the run position)---low fuel pressure from bad fuel regulator ---intermittent contact on a cam/crank position sensor. or a dozen other sensors that affect the engine.

92 Ford Escort LX Won't Start, Shows Fuel Cutout Light Upon Cranking Engine

cut off switch could still be bad. First my sure gas is getting to the engine....if so then this indicates that fuel system is working properly. Sounds like car may not be firering. Things that could cause this is coil bad, ingnition modual failed or maybe pickup coil."sensor maybe some where..timing out which would indicate timing belt or chain or gears are broke......Keep in mind these are just some things that could cause your problem and gives you ideal what to look for........hope this info helps and good luck....Please rate this post and if you need more help then fill free to contact me and we will try to get ya back on the road......

1992 Ford Ranger check engine came on just quit running. I have changed the fuel pump and filter, 1 coil had the modulator checked.also checkedchaliechavi the fuses still cranks but no start

I would have the vehicle run on a scanner to get the cause of the check engine light. Ford used the fuel shut off switch. The owners manual should show you the location and how to reset it if it tripped.

The inertia switch that you are looking for is underneath the passenger floorboard carpeting, on the firewall.

03 mach 1 cranks no start

A 6 year old car with only 5,900 miles on it would indicate that it was sitting for long periods of time. I would check the fuel filter first if it does not seem to be getting fuel.

I would also check the fuel pump shut off switch, should be located in the trunk on the drivers side. (owners manual will tell you for sure)

1992 bravada,cranks-no start, missing fuel pump

You can try to test the relay for function by swapping it with a known good working relay. If this does not work, you can put a jumper between the terminals that energize the pump (relay removed, ignition off). (On the Bosch Jetronic systems I used to work on, the pump would energize even with the ignition off). If there is still no sound, briefly turn the ignition on, and listen for the pump to energize. If you heard nothing, assume the pump is defective. I found most fuel pump problems and failures to occur in vehicles with 125,000 to 175,000 miles of use.

You may also try to check the Hall effect sensor ( a magnetic pulse detector that controls both spark and fuel flow) located within the distributor body (where the spark-plug wires attach to the distributor.

And finally, if that is good, check the ignition module within the distributor. It's a sealed transistorized circuit bolted to the inside of the distributor body with 5mm bolts.

Vehicle cranks but won't turn over

First you need to check for spark and if that is okay you need to check for fuel pressure/volume. sounds like a possible bad fuel pump. you can also try hitting the fuel tank with a rubber mallet while cranking. If the van then starts you need a new fuel pump
