Do you mean the key fob?

If so get a flat screw driver and place it between the thin line on the side of the fob, then twist thr=e screw driver and it will pop open.

Dan

I locked my keys and my phone in the trunk of my 1994 cutlass surepme I wondering if theres any way to remove the seats and crawl in through the back?

Some seat backs, you can get ahold of the bottom and jerk up, to remove. It that doesn't work, it may be bolted. If the seat back is bolted, you may have to remove seat bottom.
Even with seat back removed, you may not be able to crawl into trunk, but, if you can see your keys, use a stiff piece of wire and hook your keys to pull keys out of trunk area.

Removing ignition switch

The electrical part of the ignition and the key cylinder are both easy to replace. Disconnect the battery first so you don't trip the airbag my mistake. Remove the cowling below the steering column and you will see the ignition switch on the left side. There are a couple of screws that secure it and plug in connector. The cylinder lock must have the key in to remove it. There is a detent pin that must be pressed that is not visible when the cowling is in-place when the key is turned and it will slide out. The Haynes manual is very good with details and there is info on Youtube as well.

When you put the drift in the 4th hole to remove the key cylinder, did you make sure it went all the way back in ?
The ign cylinder has a key on it so it can only go in one way.

Sounds like the key cylinder is not in correct against the ignition switch.

My key is stuck in the ignition of my 2006 cadillac cts

2005 CTS 3.6 Dead battery, key stuck, service anti theft and nothing happens when you turn key, Ttried everything, ECM reset, key memory reset, charged battery to 12.7 volts, locked door w remote and opened w key, anyway you get the idea. After 3 days of online reading and trying, THIS IS WHAT WORKED, 1. put key into on position 2. removed sarter relay from front fuse panel 3. jumped 1st pin closest to fender and passenger seat with pin that is closest to motor and front fender. I used a paper clip and just made contact long enough for car to start. ran car for five minutes and took key out and everything went back to normal. then I took car to advance auto parts to have engine light reset. if car does not go back to normal you have ECM (car computer) failure. video on YouTube under "no crank, no start"

Locked ignition. Can't get car out of park or turn ignition switch. Ignition is locked up.

you will most likely have to replace key cylinder. remove cowl around steering column, upper & lower, remove plastic cyl around key, you will need a paper clip to remove key cyl. small hole near back of key cyl, install paper clip end pushing down turn key cyl, to run position, jiggle key cyl to remove. auto parts store should have replacement. good luck

Cant take key out of ignition

Put the thing in neutral and then back to park and try removing the key.

Turn your steering wheel a little to the right and left and try removing the key.

Push your foot on the brake and turn the steering wheel a little to the left and right and try removing the key.

After you remove the key put a little graphite powder in the keyhole to make removing the key easier. Also, get your spare key and see if it can easily be inserted and removed. If your spare key works like a champ, then your main key should be compared to the spare key to see if its defective. If the main key is defective, then take your spare key and make a copy of it at the locksmith shop.

PROBLEM IS MY DODGE CARAVAN WONT START, CHECKED THE STARTER, BATTERY, AND ALSO CHECKED THE ALTANANTER, WHAT ELSE COULD BE WRONG

Does the key not spring back when you go to start posotion and the starter not engaging? If so, remove the shroud around the column. 3 screws on the bottom, hex i believe. the ign cyl need to come out. put the key in the ign cyl and turn to the accessory position. look for a black roll pin stearing you in the face on the front side of the plastic housing(you do have to look for it....its kinda hidden). push the roll pin in with a small pick or screwdriver. pull the cylinder out part way ( it won't come out all the way with the key in the switch)and then turn the key back to the off position and remove the key from the key switch or cylinder. The cylinder should come out of the housing the rest of the way with the key completly removed. look on the back of the key cylinder to see if the back has a little piece scheeredor broken off of it. If so, the broken piece will be in the column where you removed the switch. Remove the broken piece from the column. put a new ignition switch in reverse of how you removed it.... and your on the way.You may need to visit a locksmith if you want the ignition keyed back the same as the doors. If you don;t mind 2 keys for your vehicle, pick up one from the parts store. hope this helps. please leave feedback if it does. This helps others

Removed switch how do i remove cylinder

Roll the key back to the lock position and push the roll pin in. When you go back together, rolling the key forward pushes the roll pin back out to lock it in place.

Key stuck in ignition, will not turn back to off position to remove key , key is new and not worn

I had a problem like this - where the key would NOT go to lock when you shifted to PARK an tried to turn off the engine - I fiddled with it for a bit and finally discovered that when I put the transmission in into park I needed to pull back just a bit so that the lock cylinder would know that the vehicle is in park. I tried it several times both with and without pulling back a tad on the shifter after placing in PARK. Each time I did not pull back on the shifter it would NOT let me remove the key, EVERY time I pulled back on the shifter a tad - it would allow me to remove the key. Someone tell me why ? Adjustment ? I hope so...
