I have a 1995 Hyundai Sonata 2.0 GL it will not start unless i very lightly tap the throttle, and will not stay running unless I keep on doing so.

When the plugs are black and fouled, the engine is getting WAY too much fuel, constantly. Normally, the computer will put the engine into cold start mode when first starting, once warm it cuts back to normal fuel flow. Since it's steadily getting too much fuel, I'd say it's in the computer causing excess fuel delivery. Have the Temperature sending unit checked for proper operation.

I have a 2004 dodge neon that I pressure washed the engine in. After doing so it would run and sounds fine till it hits 4000 rpm. the it just bogs down.It wont rev over 4000 rpm no matter what I do to...

You obviously got water in an electrical connector. Disconnect each one and blow it out with compressed air. This is why you should NEVER power wash an engine.

Rough idle stops

I suspect the idle solenoid on the throttle body is faulty, relatively cheap, may pay for you to clean the throttle body while you are there too. Hope this helps, good luck.

The TPS (throttle position sensor) is most likely faulty. It is located on the drivers side of the throttle body.

Check engine light on. Will not rev up over 2500 rpm. Fluctuates between 2000 and 2500 rpm and runs rough. Upon first start, you can rev fine and it runs smooth as long as you hold the rpms over 3000. ...

Hi, there are a lot of things that could cause this behavior, so it would help us to diagnose your problem if you could get a scan of the OBD2 connector and send us the trouble code. If you live in the US you can usually get a free scan at your local parts chain.

2001 dodge ram

Sounds like a faulty throttle position sensor (TPS). It is located on the throttle body exterior on the end of the throttle plate shaft. It has an electrical connector on it with three wires. The principle of operation is a carbon track with near zero volts at one end and 5 volts at the other and a central connection, corresponding to the position of the throttle shaft, that sweeps along the carbon track returning a voltage to the ECU.

2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Quad won't start in morning

could be that the electronic throttle could be icing up. just remove the air cleaner and have someone cycle the key. the throttlebody will cycle prior to starting to do a self check. chrysler has a tsb out for this concern. tsb # 14-002-05
