Question about 1999 Ford F150 Regular Cab

Open Question

My 1999 ford F150 Extended cab 4.6L engine, automatic trans, shuts down both while driving and at idle. Only lights showing on dash are green dots in the odometer section. Turn key off and engine starts back up.Ford said to clean carbon in intake, replace DPFE sensor. Did it. changed fuel filter, cleaned injectors. Still stops running. Where do I go from here?

SOURCE: 2000 Ford Expedition wont start

On the engine there is a tube that supplies fuel to the fuel injectors, on that tube there is a valve, like a metal tire valve, this is the fuel pressure test port, you will need a special guage to check the pressure that screws onto that valve, Kragen and other parts stores sell this test kit, it is very inexpensive, about $20.00, but cheaper than having a shop do it for you, if you do the test and you have no pressure while cranking the engine then your fuel pump is bad, the pump is in the gas tank, a big job and dangerous due to chance of fire if you are not cautious.

SOURCE: I need to replace my heater core in a 1997 ford f150 extended cab

you have to go in under the dash on the passenger side so there will be vents and stuff you have to remove. under the hood are two hoses that run to it which you also have to disconnect as these go to the heater core.

Is the check engine light on ?
Have you checked the computer for trouble codes ?
You could have one bad spark plug even with only 30k on it.
Problem could also be a dirty injector.

How do i reset the door ajar light on a 1999 ford f150 extended cab truck

You must replace the switch in the pillar that tells the computer that your door is ajar. Most likely a dealer part.

1999 ford f-150 extended cab while traveling over holidays truck started running bad on interstate kinda felt like as though you wered trying to drive witht he emergency brake on then next thing ya know...

Just found your posting of the problem, 1st thing to do is see why the check engine light came on. You can stop at a parts store, most will check for codes for free. They plug a hand held scan tool into the computer port under the dash, and 'scan' for any trouble codes stored in the trucks computer. Write down the codes, and have them explain what they mean, and what they recommend to fix the problem. U can post any questions here, include the codes. U need to get this checked out before u attempt the long trip home, as this could result in a breakdown, or possible further damage to the vehicle if u continue to drive it.

Beeping sound inside cab of 1997 ford f150

Disconnect the battery negative cable then reconnect. See if that helps. Battery life should run up to 4 years.if you replace the battery yourself , you may experience some check engine light or other lights on the dash. But do the same. disconnect the negative termonal and let sit then reconnect. you may have to do this several times. the computer de-programs when the battery is removed. you have to let it re-program itself.

A leak

the only way to permanently fix that is to drain the block of all fluids and detach the battery, then weld the leak hole shut. You can try using a stop-leak product from your local auto parts store for a temporary fix.
