Replace the multi function switch

sorry i will add on to my earlier response. The multi function switch looks like handle bars from a bike. the top trim piece has to come off the steering column, which involves removing the bottom cover first. then it has three connectors on it. remove them and the one torx screw and left the piece up. To install the new multifunction switch install the same way you took it out, BUT there is a gold colour pin that has to be pushed in when you are putting it back in place. This pin is for the horn cam and if you don't push it in you will damage the horn cam and the steering wheel will have to come off to replace this part. Not fun. This piece is simple plug and play no programming required. If you have access to a junk yard you may want to try that route for the part. It would be cheaper. Any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

2004 Grand Am GT,Pontiac, My turn signal lights up to signal but doesn't blink and my flasher lights up and doesn't flash. Please advise

Your indicator relay has stopped working. You will need to replace the relay. If you have an owners workshop manual you can locate it yourself. Failing that ask on google for the location of the correct relay generally located in or near the fuse boxes, but can be located under the steering column. Make sure you know which is the correct relay as there maybe be the starter motor relay and others located nearby.
Good luck. S

Turn signal clicker comes on randomly but doesn't affect lights

No the dash is the hazard light switch, it's also the turn signal flasher, dealer part only replace, replacing it will fix your problem. Feel the switch when you hear the clicking.

Turn signal is constantly clicking without turn signals on. Sometimes fast sometimes slow, just on it's own it starts clicking

It's more than likely to be the multifunction switch , the contacts get dirty and cause the flasher to continue to click . The flasher and hazard switch are one unit behind the dash , that's why you hear the sound from there.

The next step would be cleaning your multifunction switch. Clicking it into place wears away at it, leaving metal shavings in the grease surrounding parts. When enough metal accumulates, it likes to short and constantly complete the circuit.

Good luck and keep me posted, this was a recall and the fix was to clean the grease used, and or replace the unit.

Having problems with repeated clicking in dash when turn signals are not on. I believe it is a multifunction switch but don't know how to repair and what tools I need. It is a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT. ...

The most common for this is that the hazzard flasher switch is the problem. The hazzard flasher / switch is also the turn signal flasher. There is no wire to cut to stop the clicking. The switch needs to be replaced. Lightly pushing in on the switch button will cause the lights to act irratically if it is the problem. The only other thing that causes this is the turn signal switch in the steering column. Tech jk
