Question about 1994 Ford Taurus
1994 ford tours 3.0 liter eng.non over head cam .runing hot.replaced water pump, thermstat and reaidator.but the thermstat is not opening and car is steal runing hot,the cooling fan workes.what could be the problem? I was thinking head or head gaskit but wont to be sure.can back presure be keeping the thermstat from opening, caused by bad head gasket or cracked head?
You may have a seaping head gasket,A sign of that would be air steaming from the radiator.Normally it will rapidly heat up and blow pressure out of the overflow. You have replaced every likely part that may have been suspect, So the chance that you have a faulty head gasket or a possible cylinder head issue is very possible. If you decide to replace the head gaskets make sure you have your cylinder heads checked my a machine shop those heads have been suspect for cracking near the water jackets and valve area.

If you had a crack in your head you should be losing water inside/outside the engine, the same with a head gasket, check for water running down the outside of block and the exhast for excess water discharge, I know will sould stupid but did you insert the thermostat in the correct way? spring facing downwards?. The only other thing i can think of is if you have a collapsed rubber hose somewhere.
