How do I line-up the flywheel timing marks and where are they. I fitted new clutch and had to remove the flywheel

There should have been a dowel pin in crank flange so the flywheel would go back in the same spot. Is it a new flywheel? Was it balanced? There are no timing marks on the flywheel. Does the gear on the starter line up with the flywheel teeth? Does the engine turn over? Would like to help.

I took old timing chain off my 2001 Mercury Marquis 4.6 and something moved, either one of the cam gears or both. I set the timing on the crank shaft to top dead center, but now I can't get the m

what you have to do is clean the chain very well you are looking for 2 links that are different colors than the rest (bronze colored ) count the links between the two rotate the cam 2 12:00 with the dowel pin up or the dot on the edge of the pulley put the chain on with the links on each mark and set the tensioners in place

What is the dowel pin locationfor a dodge neon 2.0 dohc on cam gears

Dowel pin? I've rebuilt the 2.0 in my Neon several times for various issues and never had to mess with a Dowel Pin. I'm not even seeing a reference to a Dowel pin in either of my books on that vehicle. If your talking about the Key way located on the Cam pulling that holds the timing belt that Cam shaft is keyed and it will only mount one way. That pin will be at the 12 o'clock position when you put the timing belt back on but don't use that by itself to align the motor back properly. You need to have the crank at #1 TDC and you need to make sure the first two valves are closed with the first valve on the #2 cylinder open and the Exhaust valve closed, or second valve on the #2 closed to properly align the motor for the timing belt.

Timing mark settings for a 1988 Chevy Corsica 2.8 L fi v6 automatic

The locationmarks on the cam & the crank are in the sam positon on both the 2.8 & 3.1 Multi Port Fuel injection (2.8 MPI) The timing marks on the geared sprockets should both be at 12 o'clock. The lower sprocket, is in the correct position due to the woodruff key (spline). On the Camshaft, be sure that the Dowel pin is at 9 o'clock when the three sprocket bolts are installed. Hope this helps.

I have done engine overhall for my mazda 6 2003.i want to know how set timing and the timing marks?

there are special tools pin to lock crank in correct position and cams have flat plate that goes across into both at rear of cams small section goes up from memory, the cam gears have no dowel pin/locating pin to camshaft you do bolts up last when all are locked in position and grenade pin (locking)pin in tensioner is removed and chain is tight then hold cams with shifter or spanner(wrench) on cam flats and do up cam gear to camshaft bolts on each cam.
hole in front cover just above crank pulley at 11O clock, blind blanking plug must be removed to put in chain tensioner pin, crank blanking plug on your left side when looking at crank pulley(side of block) remove and locking pin goes into there when at TDC no1. and cams should be in position to lock with plate as described above.may not be any timming marks on chains or gears due to the locking tools needed and relied on for correct position.
good luck if you feel confident.
some Mazda dealerships may lend tools if you ask nicely or know some one.

Need to know how to set the timing belt on A 91 plymouth laser. Or A diagram on where the marks need to line up

First off I would strongly recommend you purchase a haynes or equivalent service manual. There are 2 indentations on the cam gears. There is an arrow on the oil pump (lower right) sprocket. There is a small dimple indentation on the crank pulley sprocket. The crank pulley dowel pin faces up. Actually, vfaq.com lol

In a 1993 the crank and cam sensors are in the timing cover on the Dodge Stealth dohc 3.0. But on the 92 it's at the end of the cam gear. How can I make this swap?

i would think you could take out the cam plug and put the sensor in but the cam if i remember right has a metal pin like a dowel inserted in a hole drilled in the camshaft and that is what the sensor reads. if there is no pin or other tab on the other engine then you would have to swap the cam

My back window gear has gone out and i need the gear it is a 1993

If the motor still turns ,the dowel pins in the motor gear are broken. It takes three dowels to repair. A local part store should stock them. The motor will have to be removed and disassemble where the gear is. Clean out the remainder of the old dowels and carefully install the new ones in the notches. They wil have to be installed at the same time. God luck.
