Did you have a new key made or is the key you are using really worn ? Keys are very fussy and need to be exact to match your vehicle. It is possible your steering is in a fully crouched position. What you must do is to pull on the steering wheel the same direction the tires are pointing as hard as you can, and try to turn the key at the same time to unlock the steering wheel lock.
Please let me know how it turns out.

If it worked before the last few times it may have turned easily or may have been sticking somewhat. It will not move for a spring or a tumbler for the cylender has broke or jambed inside the lock preventing the key to turn. The lock cylinder must be replaced for they are not rebuildable on this model Jeep

Spray the lock cylinder with WD40, work the key in and out several times, then before you try to turn it put the key in the cylinder and rap the head of the key with the handle of a screwdriver a few times, then try to turn your key.

Usually a sign the tumblers in the lock cylinder have worn out or jammed.
You may have to get the lock cylinder drilled out and replaced.

Stuck eldorado key in DTS ignition now car won't start

Make sure your steering wheel isn't locked. Sometimes a key won't turn until you jiggle the wheel while trying to turn the key.

I put key in ignition and it won't turn. Steering wheel will turn but key won't turn. We have 2 keys and neither will work. What can I do?

If the wrong key was inserted it may have bent a tumbler pin, maybe try some wd-40 or similar and work it with the right key, might drop the tumbler back,,if not the whole ign. cylinder will have to be changed

I have a 1998 Ford Windstar. Got in to drive, turned the key to start and 'snap' something seems to have broke within the ignition lock cylinder... all of the accessories are on... the key...

This happened to to me with my ranger. I went and bought in ignition and a junk yard and no problems after that. That way your not out of a lot of money.

When I put the key in and hold the steering wheel it won't unlock and my key won't turn

the steering wheel has a locking devise released by the key when starting, at times the wheel is turned in a way that keeps pressure on the lock that makes turning the key harder, this is the same in most cars, so a little jiggle of the wheel will make turning the key much easier, please take a moment to rate my reply Good Luck
