While helpful, the author neglected to disconnect antenna harness connector under hood, disconnect the battery as a safety precaution and could have provided clearer instructions for the complete removal and repacement of the antenna assembly if they knew how to do it.

If power the inner plastic inner skirt will have to be removed to gain access to the mounting hardware for removal. you will need a high powered lamp to view all internal parts. the upper part of the mast will have a bracket with a very small screw on it. remove the lower hex nuts instead and leave the bracket mounted for you will have much difficulties to reinstall that one. the rest is easy to see if well lighted

Remove radio, antenna and volume intermitent

Please describe your problem in more detail. Do you mean you removed the radio and now the automatic antenna and volume are intermittent? Or perhaps you removed both the radio and antenna and now the volume is intermittent. Or perhaps you want to know how to remove the radio and antenna because the volume is intermittent.

if you can secure an exact replacement part/antenna, you can go ahead and study the actual setup of previous antenna and start tearing it down from the inside , or go to dealer to have it replaced at a fee.

Need to replace radio antenna on a 99 isuzu rodeo

I just replaced the antenna on our 02 rodeo. No need to remove radio or anything in dash. This is how I did it.
First you will need access to back of fender, enough room for your hand. Open hood and remove 3 bolts running along top of fender, open passenger door and remove top bolt holding fender. Gently pry top of fender away from vehicle. Place object in gap to hold fender ( I used the head of a rubber mallet). Reach inside fender and disconnect old antenna, follow cable through wall into passenger compartment. Gently pull cable from behind carpet and unplug old antenna from coupler. Connect new antenna to fender ( replacement antenna I ordered was slightly smaller than opening so I had to add washer). Run new antenna cable through wall and plug into coupler. Re-attach fender

Power antenna broke and I need to replace it. How

Buy replacement antenna mast. Remove old one by unscrewing the retaining cap nut. Turn on the radio & let the antenna cable run all the way up while you pull on it to remove it.
Install the new antenna mast by turning the radio 'off' so the spool inside goes back to its beginning while you feed the cable of the new antenna down into the antenna mast hole.
Once the cable is all the way down, reinstall the retaining nut/cap and turn on the radio to allow the spool to run the antenna 'UP.'... cycle the radio ON and then OFF several times allowing the antenna to move all the way up and all the way down.
That's it!

Power antenna. 1986 olds delta 88

Obviously if fuse panel has a power antennae fuse, simply pull it, otherwise you may have to get to connector at motor by removing part or all of sheild in wheel well to access it in some cases. Only other option would be to remove radio from dash & disconnect antennae power wire from radio. Don't forget you want it up before disconnecting if you can.
