Its sounds like an air lock in your cooling sys. when its cold fill the rad then start the engine turn on the heat (with rad cap off) top it up when it burps put your rad cap on and let it warm up

2006charger 3.5liter still running hot, I noticed the relief valve on front of intake is leaking coolant , but pre owner tightend it to much cracked it but put jbweld on threads canthat cause overheat

a leak will not allow the system to come up to proper pressure to raise the boiling point of the coolant
It is possible that is the problem but I think you should do a compression test to check for head gasket/cracked head and have a flow test done on the radiator
check the fins on the cores of the radiator and if they flake off when touched get a new radiator

Brand new rad, all hoses and connections are good, car still overheats, water running underneath the engine, what is going on?

It could be a blown head gasket, crack in head or engine block, a freeze plug or water pump gone bad. You need to have it pressure tested. A pressure tester connects to radiator and is like a bicycle air pump. It puts air pressure inside the cooling system and wherever the leak will leak much faster and heavier under pressure making it easier to detect where the leak is coming from.
You can borrow a pressure tester from AutoZone. They have a loan a tool program..You leave a deposit they loan you the tool, when you return tool the deposit is fee charged involved..

if this is fitted with a viscous fan hub and not electric fans then replace the hub. do the normal compression test and coolant pressure test to check cooling system and head gaskets.

Jaguar s type overheating new water pump new radiator new thermostat still overheat

have a compression test done to check for head gasket or cracked head. Check that the exhaust system is not blocked (failed cat converter). Check for air lock in the cooling system. Have it pressure bled by an accredited radiator shop

Have 1999 Montero 4M4T 2800 in Costa Rica. How many rows are required in radiator? 3 new head gaskets, re-built motor TWICE, new hose BEHIND motor or radiator, new cap, NOW mechanic says he WON'T put in...

have cooling system pressure tested for external and internal-combustion gas leak that is interfering with the normal engine water circulation. You may have a warped cylinder head. remove and replace thermostat only when it is defective but replace with a new one.

Chevy lumina overheat

engines overheat with no thermostats. Very simply put the water circulation is too fast for the heat to transfer to the air. Water pumps fail from bad bearings and pump seal but for no other reason. So back to basics Refit with a new thermostat put in properly. Have a flow test done on the radiator for blocked cores. have a coolant system pressure test done for leaks and cap failure.. have a compression test done to check for head gasket or cracks.. Check for correct ignition timing and air/ fuel ratio mixture. Run fault codes . when refilling with coolant ensure that all air locks are removed

I purchased my used 2000 pathfinder recently and I use it in the tropical region where average temperature is 30 degrees centigrade and it overheats anytime I'm caught up in a traffic for more than 5mins

That's not normal and i would say check your coolant level and the Thermostat,if its ok then check the head gasket for any leaks by doing a compression test. Good luck

Overheats while driving stops when still cuts off

What EEC IV engine control trouble codes do you have? sounds like you have a mechanical problem, run a cylinder compession test and have the engine tested for a blown cylinder head gasket.
