Could be the IAC ( idle Air Controller ) is not opening far enough to keep the idle smooth when you put the truck in drive.

Under the plastic throttle body cover is the IAC bolted to the back of the throttle body. It is held on with 2 8mm ( 9 mm ? ) hex head bolts.
I used throttle body cleaner to clean mine when I had an idle problem.

The other thing could be the MAFS ( Mass AirFlow Sensor ) needs to be cleaned. Some throttle body cleaner is MAFS safe, it will specifically say on the can.
The MAFS is in the airfilter housing, it is a little stand tube with a wire in it. Only spray it clean, don't rub it.

While you are cleaning both, have the battery disconnected, to clean the leaned settings that the PCM has.
After you clean both and put everything back together, follow 2 drive cycles to complete all emissions tests, and start the relearn process ( quicker than letting the truck learn the new ones on the fly ).
Good drive cycle description is at this URL

So I have a 1993 Ford Aerostar all wheel drive, I have replaced the MAF sensor just recently with one from a junk yard off a Ford Explorer which made it stop but the check engine light was now on. It ran...

Have the computer scanned for trouble codes, autozone does it for free, so do others. Go from there, or post them here for help. You might want a compression test of the engine before putting a lot of money into repairs. The shimmy could be from an engine miss or a broken or worn motor mount.

My explorer idles fine in park but skips and misses when under load

K the next thing to check is the throttle position sensor. It's probably going bad. The same thing happened to me on my 1995 F250 5.8L

98 ford windstar van ran out of gas and now wont start even after refueling.

To review - - the fuel pump in the tank pumps fuel to the injectors.
There is a fuel shut-off which works in a wreck to prevent a fire.
If the plunger is down, the switch is on. Normal.

It is possible the fuel lines are full of air which would take a long time to purge by cranking the engine. Sometimes you have to use starting fluid or other means to "run" the engine long enough to get gas back into the injectors.
As long as the engine cranks, the battery is fine.
It is also possible the pump was damaged when the tank was run empty. The pump uses liquid fuel to cool and lubricate the electric pump. It can overheat when running the tank below 1/4 full.
It is also possible the fuel filter was clogged with junk from the bottom of the tank.
I would get someone to check for fuel pressure at the injectors and try some carb cleaner or starting fluid in the intake hose next.

My check engine light in on. I have a 1998 chevrolet Malibu. It has been skipping and I thought that water was in gas. I have now put Lucas in gas tank.

It sounds like you may have a bad spark plug or bad spark plug wire. The first thing you need to do is find out what diagnostic trouble code is in the computer and to save money autozone will scan it for free. Send me a message and tell me what came up in the computer and we can go from there. Good luck.

How would a 2006 ford expedition run with bad gas in it

It could consist of skipping, engine cutting off or hesitates from starting, idling . Bad gas gives numerous signs, the best way I have found to deal with this is, Buy a octane booster 104, go to the gas station and put a couple of gallons of high premium in to tank to disperse the water in the gas. They also make a liquid to take water out of gas which also goes into the tank.

2001 Ford Ranger SRS brakeks and bearing problems

Your truck has sealed bearings in the front but they can go bad after several miles. If the truck is not stopping straight or you are getting a pulse through the break pedal (and sometimes a shimmy in the steering) then it's time to replace the rotors and pads. If the truck is stopping and driving fine then I wouldn't worry about it.

92 f-15o 4x4 auto trans shimmy

Could be a bad tranny mount. Look at all the mounts for broken rubber or rusted hangers. I have seen this in other fords as well. Also it would be a good idea to change your transfer case oil.
