If the passenger side wiper works just fine then your problem is in the wiper transmission or at the attachment point of the wiper arm to the transmission. There will be a cap over the nut that holds the arm to the transmission, remove the cap and watch to see if the nut and transmission turn but the arm does not when turned on. If this is the case remove the wiper arm and upon inspection you will likely find the splines that intersect with the splines on the transmission damaged. Replace your wiper arm if this is the cause of your concern.

Only my driver side windshield wiper isnt working

at the base of the wiper arm theres a small cap to cover the point where the arm is mounted to the mechanism, remove the cap and tighten the nut ,you may have to loosen and tighten this nut a few times to adjust the arc of movement of the arm,ie,it may move too far across and foul the other wiper or too far down and foul the window lip,a bit of trial and error should see it working as good as new,
its nothing to do with fuses or electrics of any sort its just a loose nut on the wiper arm mount is all

I've got a 2000 dodge dakota i need to see what position does the windshield wiper arms need to be in after i replace the wiper motor

Hi.

It's pretty easy, you do not need to know the position, the wiper motor always return to it's origin, just activate the wiper motor by briefly using the washer fluid switch for instance, let it finish it's movement. Next, you want to place the wiper arm with the longest blade on the driver side. Now for the height, most car's wiper sit from 0.5 to 1 inch above the base of the windshield so that should be what you're aiming for, if the wiper arms pinion has splines, try to pick the one closest to the windshield but not too close of course and repeat the same steps for the passenger side. Now you should check the wiper arm operation for collision, incorrect height or travel distance and adjust the wiper arm position accordingly. By the way, if you're lucky your windshield may have mark on the base of the tinting of the windshield to indicate the height of the wiper blade

Either the wiper arms are loose or stripped on the pivots or the wiper linkage is broken. Try tightening the arm to pivot bolt. If that doesn't work, remove the plastic cowling and examine the linkage. You can buy new linkage for it.

2009 Touareg passenger side windshield wiper arm does not move but driver side does

sounds like the connecting rod between both wiper arms either broke or one of the keepers popped off under the connector for that arm..since the wiper system IS NOT designed to wisk snow off the window once accumulated, this can an does happen.. even seen motors get burned out doing this..cleaning the window first will save this issue and the equiptment. need to acess this arm<take off the vented peice below the windshield and everything should be visible there..repost findings

One of my wipers has free play on the driver side, when i turn them on the driver side wiper doesn't respond.

Don't know if you still need help with this but I just had the same thing happen to mine after the drivers side was frozen to the windshield last week. All you need is a flathead screwdriver( butter knife) and a socket wrench (any adjustable wrench). Pop the hood and there is a cap on the end of the wiper nearest to the engine. With the flathead screwdriver pop off the cap and use the proper bit to tighten the nut with your socket wrench. The problem seems to be that when too much load is placed on the wiper the nut will slip and the blade will no longer have enough tension transferred from the wiper motor to the blade resulting in sporadic movement. Good luck worked for me oh and from what I have read once it has happened once it may happen again just repeat until the bolt needs to be replaced.

1999 Buick Centery passenger side windshield wiper

Sounds like you need two new wiper motors. I beliveve the gearing inside the motors are worn out and now theres alot of play in them. Try wiggling the wipers with you hands and see if you can feel any up or down / side to side movement.

One windshield wiper won't lift when turned on

Sounds like possibly the R/S armis loose or stripped . Also check linkage. With car and wipers off, carefully attempt to manually move R/S wiper arm. There should be little or no movement.

99' Honda Passport driver side wiper stopped working

the main motor is on the passenger side. there is a link between the to that operates the driver side wiper. the link has to be replaced.. what i am finding is that you have to buy the whole wiper kit which is approx.70 dollars instead of just buying the link or gromet.
