What grade of fuel do I use in a 2008 Lancer ES 2.4i

  • You don't need real high Octane with this vehicle. 87 Octane Petrol will be fine. Stay away from Ethanol content as much as you can. Contrary to what some think, if your engine is not built for Ethanol then you should not be using it although many countries mix it in the fuel anyway.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

2003 Mitsubishi Lancer es question cant figure out

Unfortunately, I do not think you will be able to use the flush kit on your car. There are two lines with very short hoses. The one you are looking for is only a few inches long. SORRY.

2003 Mitsubishi Lancer ES. First had code, changed both O2 sensors. Bad sulfur smell resolved, check engine light resolved for about 400 miles, then came back on. Same code, but the smell is still gone....

Probably a bad catalytic converter. Causing back pressure and making your O2 sensors read wrong. Cheap gas of less than 87 octane can cause incomplete combustion giving the sulpher smell and leave deposits in the exhaust. The sulpher smell originally came from fuel additives in your gas. Cheap gas especially. Your converter puts it out as sulphuric acid. This damages the sensors and converter. Ultimately though, what cause sconverter failure prematurely is idling your car for long periods. Over 3 minutes is not recommended.

The fuel filter/strainer is part of the fuel pump assembly located in the gas tank for the Mitsubishi 2.0L

FUEL FILTER

Most modern day fuel injected cars have the pump located inside the gas tank. It's the safest place to put it, it can't ignite any fumes because it's submerged in the liquid.
