Try using thicker oil sounds like it has much engine wear and the thin oil is just slipping by the rings and burning with the fuel.also check your pcv valve if its bad it will allow engine to **** in oil and burn it with combustion.

Hi and thank you for using fixya:

I would like to start by asking you several questions:

1-how many miles on the car?
2-is the car smoking through the tailpipe?

If the car is smoking there is a possibility of having bad piston rings although it is very rare for the gas to pass down the cylinder.

My 2005 Cadillac CTS uses a quart Oil between oil changes, what could be the reason. There is no pooling under the motor and buring smell or smoke and the car only has 68000 miles

It's normal for most cars with significant miles on there to use oil, you won't see or smell the oil being used because some of it gets burned internally between the piston and the piston rings, I wouldn't worry about it until you start seeing blue smoke coming out of your exhaust while the engine is running, in that case your piston rings are worn aqnd it's tome for a new or rebuilt motor.

White smoke coming from tailpipe? Slight knocking noise. 99 Camry.

White smoke or steam? Smoke is oil buring and steam is coolant steaming. If this is steam, you have a blown head gasket...if oil, it could be either a oil ring problem or a valve seal problem.

Instead of the marvel oil I would change the oil and filter and add one quart of Lucas oil additive as it will help coat the cylinder walls and reduce the oil consumption. You may also want to replace the PCV valve on top of the valve cover as a sticky PCV valve could be causing internal pressure to build up in the engine and cause oil to leak past the piston rings.

2003 camry shows some smoke on startup for a few seconds after garaging overnight, then is fine. oil levels are full since last change 1500 miles ago

If that smoke is white then it's probably nothing more than the water from  the combustion gases that has condensed on the exhaust line, nothing to worry.

My 93 maxima got no power an smoke started to come out the tail end.

The best test is a compression test.
Blue smoke means it's burning oil, due to worn out piston rings.
White smoke means it's mixing antifreeze and oil due to a bad head gasket or cracked head or block.
