Actually the ratio can vary some depending on temperature. Even if it never gets below freezing, you need about a 30% mixture to prevent corrosion, so 50% is not a bad idea.
But buying premix is.
It costs almost 40% more that way.
It is cheaper to buy just antifreeze, and mix your own with plain water.
