I have a 1992 ford f250 5.8L and I replaced the spark plugs and wires and now it will not run right. What is the correct order

You probably mixed the wires. Go and ask on a Ford forum or search for the repair manual image for the correct connection order for the wires.

It was runing fine then i changed tha wires and cap now it wont start

See if you get spark from any of the plug wires(use a zip tie or something to ground an old spark plug to the engine block or other metal on engine, connect a wire and crank it)If you do get a spark, you probably mixed up the wires at the cap)If not, then maybe rig up some way to see if you get anything from the coil(I'm assuming it's the "coil in cap" design)IF you did mix up the plug wires, you'll have to find a diagram somewhere to correct it.After correcting it and getting it running, clean a spot off somewhere under the hood, and make a drawing for future reference with a Sharpie marker, then spray a little clear paint over it(I have done this on every engine I have)

Fixing Order Mix Up on 03 Pontiac Grand Am... I accidentally mixed up two wires when replacing spark plug wires on my Pontiac Grand Am. I have the correct firing order now, but how do I go about fixing...

By mixing the plugwires up all you did was mess up the firing order. If you have the correct firing order, just plug the appropriate wire to the appropriate spark plug. You do not need to unhook the Battery. Unhooking the battery resets your computer and you do not need to do that for this problem.

I need to know the correct way. in which to remove spark plugs

Well you need a Rachet set with a spark plug socket for your Car. Then place the socket on the spark plug after removing the wire and turn counter clockwise to remove it. Counter clockwise is turning left if looking at a clock. Be sure not to break the spark plug wires when removing them. You must hold them tightly at the end and pull them off slowly and carefully. Once you have the spark plug end of the wire off,, put it aside but remember which spark plug it goes too. It's very important not to mix them up.

When putting your new spark plugs in be sure to set the gap correctly or buy a set of spark plugs with preset gaps. Then place the new plug into the hole and turn them clockwise to tighten by hand at first them with your sparkplug socket and rachet until the new sparkplug is snug. Not to tight. Just snug as it will tighten a bit more on it's own. Then replace the spark plug wire carefully.

After installing spark plugs, cars running ruff

Make sure the spark plugs are gapped correctly, and they are not from auto zone, they use factory seconds,Make sure the boots are on the coils ,and spark plugs too. Then look at the primary wiring to the coils to make sure they are going to the correct coil(cylinder).

How to change te spark plugs

Hi: If this is your 1st time to Change your Spark Plugs, I recommend that you First of All Get the Correct Spark Plugs from your Auto Parts Store, Then Locate your Spark Plug Wires which run from your Distributor Cap to your Spark Plugs. If you have a V-8 There will be 8 if you Have a V-6 Then You'll have six Spark Plug Wires and 1- COIL Wire which is located in the Center of your Distributor Cap to your Coil. It is the Shortes Wire.I Recommend you ONLY do 1-Spark Plug at a Time, This will Prevent you from getting any of your wires Crossed which will Cause your Engine to Run Rough ,Back Fire or Not even Start,So just Pull off 1-Wire From Spark Plug and one Wire From Your Distributor Cap, You'll Need a Spark Plug Socket Probally 5/8th in. And a Ratchet and 2- Different Size Extensions to beable to reackh all your Spark PlugsNOTE!! Buy you a Spark Plug Wire Tool there not very Expensive but well worth it,This was you Can Pull the Wires with out Damaging Your Wires. And you Might Want to Put NEW Spark Plug Wires On as well, If So and I do Recommend This. And Again Just do 1- Wire and Plug At a Time So you'll know you Have Not Crossed any Wires. Hope This Helps You ,Please Respond by Voting on This Problem And How it Helped You. Thanks From WYOCWBOY

How do you change the spark plug wires

Purchase a set of custom fit spark plug wires. Remove the wires one at a time and just reinstall the new one of the correct length. Do not remove them all or you will get mixed up. Here is a diagram. The 3.3 & 3.5 liter engines have identical setups. b635180.png

How to replace spark plugs for 1999 ford contour

to replace spark plugs remove spark plug wire boots. use special sparkplug socket or else you can break the sparkplug. to remove turn ratchet counterclockwise remove all four one at a time, make sure that the sparkplug gap is correct. most plugs come pregapped...read the box it will tell.you. do not overtigheten plug once it has fully seated give it a good snug....if you do one at a time you dont need to mark the spark plug wires. if you mix up the wires your car will back fire which could cause severe internal damage.

Spark plugs

Have u ever changed plugs before? Do u have any tools? You will need a spark plug socket, which is especially designed for this purpose, it will help to prevent damage to the plugs when u remove and install them. Also a ratchet wrench for the socket, and depending on your vehicle, u may need an extension. Purchase manufacturer recommended plugs (check your owners manual), you have to check the 'gap' of the plugs before installation, so u need a 'feeler gauge' or spark plug gap tool available at parts stores. Plug gap is set at the factory, but sometimes during shipping and handling they get banged around, so u have to check to make sure the gap is correct. 1st remove one plug at a time (so u don't mix up the order). To remove grab the spark plug wires, grab the 'boot' (the area of the wire that fits over the spark plug), push in, twist (does'nt matter which direction)and then pull out to remove. U don't want to yank on the wire, u can damage the the wire, so make sure u r twisting/pulling as close to the plug as possible. Once the wire is disconnected, remove the spark plug. Insert a new plug, by putting it in the socket, then by hand (not attached to your ratchet wrench yet) carefully screw it in (do not force it!). Once it's hand tightened, put the ratchet on and tighten snuggly (don't use brute force!) check the tightening instructions on the spark plug box. Reattach wire, proceed to the next plug. Aren't glad u don't have a 12 cylinder engine? How many miles on your Passat? If it's approaching 100k, u should also change your spark plug wires. Good Luck! Let me know how it goes. countrycurt0
