I don't see one in an auto parts ad but I know you could get one at a pull a part junkyard or from Craigslist Waaaaaay below the cost from an auto parts store or a dealer.

Pontiac 6000 steering wheel removal

Buy a 10 or 12 dollar steering wheel removal tool from a parts store. Kind of like a gear puller, but designed for steering wheel removal. Pulls them right off.
The nut you took off makes the wheel a press fit when tightened, and not easy to get off without the puller.
Good luck.

90 f350 7.3 IDI. I have been trying to remove the pitman arm from the steering gear box and it won't budge. i have beat on the threaded spindle coming out of the gear box into the pitman arm. put heat...

Seems like you are doing what you can. Why not disconnect the pitman from the truck and drop the steering box with the pitman arm on it? Although there is a cost for another pitman arm, you risk damaging the steering box components by beating on parts like the pitman arm that connect to the steering box gears and bearings.

If you are missing work and have extra costs, replacing the pitman arm may be a cheaper alternative.

Cant find the power steering for a 2006 pontiac g6 (v6 engine)?

In 2006 Pontiac put ELECTRIC power steering in the G6's.

Your looking under the hood in the right location its just under that. its all electrical. Must have been not such a good idea because they switched back to normal power steering in 2007.

(I have an 06 G6 V6)

89 old ciera cross ref.

Column shift tilt wheel:

Ciera '89, '90
Buick Century '89, '90
Chevrolet Celebrity '89, '90
Pontiac 6000 '89, '98

Column shift w/o tilt

Olds Ciera '89, '90
Buick Century '89, '90
Chevrolet Celebrity '89, '90
Pontiac 6000 '89, '90

Floor shift...same options. Tilt and/or no tilt is a matter of preference as the wiring harness is the same, so either will work. Floor shift is floor shift only,'89 and '90 Ciera, Century, Celebrity, 6000.

Hope this helped.

Where is the power steering fluid cap located in a pontiac g6 3500 v6?

On the 3.5 V6 the power steering in located on the front corner of the engine passenger side. You'll see the serpentine belt go around the power steering pump and there should be a cop on top of the pump with a picture of the steering wheel. It may be hidden by the cold intake tube from the air cleaner box. Good luck and keep me posted if you need more help locating it, I'll try to explain better. Always easier to show then tell LOL.

Stiff power steering on Pontiac 6000, 1989.

Hi Dale,

At the risk of sounding, well skip that.

The first two things to check when the steering gets stiff are the belts and the Power steering fluid level.

The belts should be checked for tension and wear.

If the fluid in the pump was allowed to get low and was recently filled, there may be air in the system.

Bleed it out like this:
  1. Start the engine
  2. Slowly turn the wheel back and forth .
  3. Bring it almost to the stops, then back the other way
  4. Repeat 4 - 5 times
  5. Check the Power Steering Fluid level - fill to the line if needed
  6. If more was added, go back to step one and repeat the procedure.
  7. Take it for a test drive
  8. Check the levels one more time
Hope you find this to be Very Helpful

Mike
