Something would have to broke off and hit the spark plug in order for it to bend. is there any noises coming from that piston bank or anywhere?

How do I replace #5 exhaust valve spring on a 2010 4.0 ranger

It can be done without removing the head if you are very careful in the procedure
bring no5 piston up to near tdc. remove the spark plug and insert a bent piece of metal in the hole on top of the piston position the end of the metal under the valve head. It may be possible to slowly bring up the piston to hold the metal rod in place under the valve head . get a piece of flat bar wide enough to allow you to drill a hole in the centre of it so that the valve retainer and collets can be removed when you press down on the flat bar. (Really a 2 person job) the bar in the plug hole under the valve head will hold the valve up while you press down on the retainer with the flat bar. As I said carefully does it. Some mechanics use compressed air in the plug hole to hold the valve closed but I find that if the collets are a bit stuck then when you press down on the valve spring retainer there is a good chance that the valve will pop open
Talk to an accredited shop and get ideas as there may be other ways to do it.

Installed new piston rings and gas is getting inside oil

valve not closing is from a bent valve. Black soot is from over fuelling and incomplete combustion. Oily chamber is oil from the rings. It si possible that more than one valve is bent as it occurs from turning the engine over without letting of the rockers when adjusting the valve timing.

I have 93 pathfinder. it started to run a lil ruff so i changed sparkplugs .. now its barely ideling n dieing when i come to a stop.. i noticed a vacuum hose is off n i cant see where it goes . its about 8...

If its a vac hose it will have vac in it when the engine is running, or you will have a pipe on the intake pulling air where the hose is supposed to connect.
You may be able to look at a similar vehicle to figure out where the hose goes.

Car dies on freeway.Never overheated!!! What could it be.I'm guessing the fuel pump

Hopefully you don"t need gas first in the tank. While driving did your motor seem to ruff suddenly and as you went slower to a stop did you pull over and turn car off? When you turned it on again did it start up really ruff without giving gas.Can be that you need a fuel injector replaced you can not clean it because it also works electronic.Toyota runs better on higher octane period.

How can i keep the crankshaft from turning when removing the bolt?

If you pull a spark plug and turn the engine over until that cylinder is on compression stroke, go past top dead center,so the piston is going down ,take about 2 feet of rope, push it in the plug hole ,the rope will stop the rotation.Reason for being on compression is so the valves won't get bent when the rope contacts the head .

Timeing belt broke running cant seem to get it back in time

It may be one tooth off. That all it takes. One tooth on the belt of the crank or cam. The computer gets it's spark pulse from a sensor on the crankshaft. If it gets the pulse a fraction of a second to late or too early it won't time correctly. Check it out one more time. Hope this helps. Good luck and thanks for using FIX-YA.

Need assitance for vw repair

You are probably right, the clearance between the pistons and the valves is very tight on the 16 valve engines. one of the valves may have hit a piston., or even worse bent a rod or damaged the crank.
I would run a compression check, or leakdown check before pulling the head. I have a service manual for 90-93 Passats w/ 9A 16 valve engines. the manual says compression should be 145-189 psi. limit 109 psi w/ 44 psi max difference between cyclinders.

On these engines you also need to check that the timing on both cams is ok.
