Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT

All 3 break lights are out on my grand am. All bulbs worked before so i replaced the fuse and still nothing... help!!!

You might want to check your brake light switch.just follow the brake pedal up and it should be located under the dash almost at the top of the brake pedal.when you press the brake pedal,the switch pops out and when you release it ,the switch goes back in,so it actually works opposite from a regular switch.make sure there is power going to it.if it does have power,then you will need to replace this switch in order for your brakes to work.hope this info helps.take care and good luck, manny

Brake switch.It is located under the dash.If you follow the arm up from your brake peddal you will see where the switch contacts the arm.Hope this helps.

Check BackUp Module, generally is located in the rear quarter panel (drivers side).

Tail lights dont work, break lights do


Did you check the fuses all so in the engine compartment fuse block? If you did check for loose wires at the bulb sockets, Loose ground wire conecting to the body, A break in a wire, If that is not the cause there is a short in the wireing, That should be check out at a auto electric shop,

look under dash follow the brake peddel up you will see the metal arm riding on a switch it needs ajusted so the peddle arm pushes the butten in.rodger....

Break lights not working properly


hi
silly thing to sugest but would you have the brake/side light bulbs in the wrong way? if you look closley at the bulbs there is two pins either side on the round silver part. 1 pin sits higher than the other, make sure you fit the bulbs in the bulb holders to match the pins on the bulb sounds complicated but it realy is an easy mistake to make.
