Question about 2003 Pontiac Sunfire
This is pretty common in these. If you look under the battery tray, on the passenger side rear corner, there is a big electrical connector. GM, in there infinite knowledge, placed a drain hole in that corner of the battery tray. If the battery leaks acid, it drips on this connector and eats up the plastic and terminals inside.I'm betting that your cluster problems are related to this also.The may also be related to your BCM, body control module... lets start with the basics.
