The chip near the key barrel is causing interference with your ignition key.

Yes the brain to your alarm system that controls this remote starter has probably failed.

Can a remote starter damage your ECM or PCM?

If the remote starter is installed correctly...No. All the remote starter does is emulate the key starting of a vehicle, without actually having the physical transponder key or unlocking the steering wheel and transmission shift. In order to do that , that is when you need the physical key. If the system is aftermarket and not installed correctly it could cause a short in the starting system or allow the vehicle to run endlessly without timing out. If you are installing an aftermarket remote start system I suggest you consult a professional installer as pcm and ecm are part of the starting system of new vehicles and must be treated correctly inorder not to short them out.

I've got a polar remote stater when it tries to start the car the starter turns the engine over but it wont start almost like its not getting feul it starts great with the key any suggestions

I think its because it only powers the start circuit and not the rest to make it start. You will need the key in the ON position to make it run.

You need to proof read your problem, confusing. Motor turning over and one starting are different. Is the remote factory? If not you need to disconnect the power to it and try again.

1996 Subaru legacy with 5 starters replaced since June 2011. Still not starting normally. Will generally work for 2 weeks post replacement and then nothing when the key is in the start position. ...

I really think you have some other problem going on that you think is the starter. Maybe a starter relay. Does it just not start when it is warm and after it sits it starts? Does you remote starter switch bypass the key switch and go straight to the starter and then it aways cranks over. That would indicate to me that something is either wrong with the key switch or wiring to the starter relay or solenoid.

Remote starter was tried. Car did not start. Now there is clicking under the dash and car won't start with key, locks wont work, etc. remote starter is now disconnected and still the clicking and won't...

The are several things that may be causing this: Low battery Loose negative or positive connection on the battery. Fuse or wire for your remote start is burnt or faulty.
Look for loose connections first, then the fuse and wire for the remote start (it should be the wire with the inline fuse). If these other 2 are good, then try to boost the vehicle and see if it starts. If it does, you have either something draining your battery (light on, bad alternator or connection, or a bad wire) and you should find the problem (if there is one) sooner rather than later so you don't get stranded somewhere.

Security on. car wont crank. can trun key wont

verify that you have a fully charge battery and that you have the same amount of voltage at the battery as at the starter when the key is turned to the start position. If not repair fault at positive cable either at battery or at starter. If voltage checks good. Use a remote starter and turn key to the on position and try to crank over engine with remote starter. if engine cranks over. You have a defective starter solenoid and starter must be replaced.

Not starting with Key, but does start with remote atarter

Check the (ground when running) wire on the bypass modual it is probibly shorted to ground, therefore giving your car 2 transponder codes when you try to start with the key vs 1 when you use the remote start
